One Dustbuster van on Autoshite isn't enough so here's one with less color and less power:

One less gear as well I think!

I think the back end of the US spec ones looks better than the EU spec ones, and it doesn’t look bad in grey. I wonder if it’s ever been UK registered?

Yeah, I could sing a song about GM's half arsed export model homologation attempts, my euro-spec Caprice is similar, even the C5 Corvette got messed up with poorly integrated extra lights. Agree that it does look good though but pretty rough around the edges the closer you look.

Another obscure practical workhorse that already has a forum counterpart. I'd still love to try a Sigma but it would have to be a sedan for me. This one looks great but has been off the road for 17 years which usually means everything needs replacing. Probably could get it for much less than the already discounted 1k.

I always thought these pre-facelift LeBarons looked very sleek with their hidden headlights. It might not have any structural rigidity in convertible form but would you care while surrounded by this level of opulence?

An ex girlfriend had one of those…. Probably the worst car I’ve ever driven, and I’ve driven some shite. Scuttle shake that actually cracked the windscreen

Could this be the worst after marker front bumper ever fitted to a car?

Gets the approval of Cyril Sneer

@LightBulbFun How difficult do you reckon this would be to get off the Q plate?  Not that a Q particularly bothers me in itself at this price, but it's one of the exclusions on my insurance policy.

Oh its that one :) I did a bit of digging into last time it showed up on these beige pages,

Ooh thats a fun one

lets have a breakdown of things shall we!

TEU199C is an age related plate from the year 2001 registered to a White 1596cc Gazelle with no recorded engine number

this registration mark was Voided by the DVLA at some point, but still very much alive in their records https://www.freecarcheck.co.uk/free/VEVVMTk5Qw-MTY0NDY3MjQ5Nw/

Q337RFB is a Q plate issued to a Black 1725cc Gazelle registered in December 1997, registered on its engine number, or its chassis number has also been incorrectly inputted into the engine number field

(I dont know enough about singers to tell what is a Chassis number and what is an engine number) https://www.freecarcheck.co.uk/free/UTMzN1JGQg-MTY0NDY3MzA3Ng/

so its no surprise that the DVLA Voided TEU199C as the details just dont match up, (although I dont know what chassis number TEU199C has on its record as that costs actually credit to find out!)

this is why its always important to get your details squeaky clean correct on your V62 or the DVLA will ruin your day and void whatever registration mark your trying to get the V5c for!

I have a sneaky suspicion someone just slapped the plates from TEU199C onto it, to get it exported to Ireland or something such (as the Q plate was issued a good a few years before it looks like it was exported to Ireland)

EDIT: as an aside I did find https://www.flickr.com/photos/128691640@N04/48893710421

which lists its chassis number as  ending in H50 rather than HS0 thats listed on the Q plate ID

but the better question is how did it end up on a Q plate back in 1997, and does the vehicle retain any of its original ID? (ie Chassis number) if some original ID can be found then the next question is did it manage to get computerised on its original registration mark back in the 1970s/1980's and if so can said record be found?

if that can be achieved, then its just a V62 for the correct ID

otherwise even if an original vehicle registration record cannot be found, then a dating letter from an appropriate club should be enough to get it age related plate to replace the Q plate

TL;DR Q plate Smoo plate whatever doesn't phase me :) (as a bonus side note, its fun to see that Not taxed for on road use is still in the "NOT LICENSED" taxation class and after 47 years no ones corrected that spelling mistake)

(I dont think this is the first time its been for sale/in this thread because I remember looking up these registration marks before LOL)

TL;DR figure out if it actually have a VIN plate/body or chassis stamped number somewhere, if it actually has its proper VIN/stamped number, search number to see if original record exists if so, V62, if not, Dating letter through relevant club for age related plate

and if push come to shove you could probably get it registered as a rebuilt classic

Don't forget to tag @eddyramrod, it's the law.

That is one tidy looking CF and it's cooler than pre-facelift because I said so

That's a beauty, even allowing for it being Facelift.  I absolutely would.  Except... I looked at the price.

Oh well, back to dreaming...
