Cars we were brought home in

Don't have any photos of the actual car unfortunately but it was a 1987 Blue MK2 Cav Estate in 1997.

My mum has always maintained that it's her favourite car that she's owned (placing it above a MK1 CRV, MG B GT, MG Midget and lots of minis). Sadly it gave up the ghost in 2000 and became uneconomical to repair so it was scrapped.

Was born at home but I think my early days were spent in a pram in the back of an A35 van.

Thinking about it my three were taken home in  a Dismal 75 estate, a 9-5 Vector Sprot 2.3t and an Omega 2.2 GLS respectively.

Given that No3 is only eight that is all pretty AS I'm sure you would agree.

Parents didn't have a car when I was born. In fact I was about 4 before dad actually bought his first car,  a Mk6 Reliant Regal, public transport for everything else.

To avoid mum having to bring me home from the hospital on the tram (the old Sheffield ones), I believe her brother took us home in his Riley (internet picture, not the actual car).

@NorfolkNWeigh wins this thread.

Mum brought me home in one of these (there is a picture of the actual car, but who knows...)

It was older than this one, must have been pre-1963 as it was registered 4344TE.

I was brought home from the maternity unit back in 1974 in my dad's 1968 Vauxhall Viva SL90 HB 2dr - UAB 951F. He owned this through to 1985 when he part exchanged it for a brand new Sierra Mk1 1.6 Laser, I remember him being allowed £50 for it against the new car. It'd only done 50k miles but had been patched up for numerous MOT's for a good many years.

This, but crane not needed for my first trip, just for visiting I.O.M. at T.T. time.

Sunbeam Talbot 80 for me, I doubt many are still on the road as they only made them for a couple of years and I think only 3500 were built.

I think I was brought home in an austin 1100.

Younger brother came home in an uncles' FD victor.

Younger sister came home in my first SD1.

For me it was an Armstrong Siddley Hurricane convertible. Showing my age a bit.

Probably a spruce green Cortina mk1 1500 Super as that is what my dad had when I was born.

I don't know, I shall try and find out, I think likely a Saab. Perhaps my Grandads TD 940?

nah @busmansholiday ya aint losing it!

as for the thread title/question, I was brought home in a taxi of some kind, mum just wanted to get home from the hospital ASAP, so didn't wait for dad in the volvo 244 to come pick her/me up LOL

(which I was then carted around in, until it was sadly scrapped a couple weeks after my 2nd birthday in 2001, so I do very vaguely remember it!)

Yup. And I'm pretty sure I might have said escort van last time. To be fair I was very young and he had a lot of vans ?
