MOAR Guy Martin on Channel 4 - "Our Guy in India". Ep02 is on right now, but Ep01 is still on 4OD

There's currently some elderly Indian woman doing a BOLLOX and fitting a new tyre to a truck with a plank of wood and a hammer. Meanwhile, best quote is "They're not bothered about the Euro 6 Emissions over here"

Ace programme. He's not your in-depth type presenter but I massively enjoy everything that man does.

I'm gay for Guy! There, I said it. I think the bloke is fookin' ace and says it like it is.

I really enjoyed the two episodes... more please!

Because it's a better tow vehicle that the Xantia?

I've put the sensible* trousers on about the cars, as has Mike.  The 944, the car Mike keeps flip-flopping about, is the wrong car for us at the moment, it's too thirsty and the tax on it is pretty high apparently (I've not checked this) so it's up for sale again.  Mike is keeping the GT6 for fun times and I'm keeping the Princess for fun times and for when the roads aren't covered in salt.  The Xantia we'll share because it's so capable at everything and that Hilux will go to someone else because there's no way we can afford to run that.

Then there's the small matter of the Renault which events have conspired to determine is still in Wales.

First time I've ever done brake discs and pads renewal and nothing was seized, sheared, fell off, caught fire or otherwise caused trouble.

In fact, it appears to have been a total success.

I'm waiting for one of the doors to fall off or something now.

I can identify with that. First time I did, and under supervision at that, I had a good grin when it was all done. And then an even bigger grin when I'd crawled round at 3mph for a bit and nothing broke.

That never bothers me- its the first hard stop from 30mph that does me...

That and burning your fingers checking they both got warm..

We've had some probs with the handbrake shroud on the Versatile Forty, so the other day I decided to dismantle the centre console and fix it.

Imagine my surprise when I found 20p wedged down there.

It wasn't causing any problems or anything, but I thought I'd best mention it, photograph it and post it here, so that I can feel like I'm part of what's going on generally.

As you were.

Does this make me rich as I know there a pound stuck under mine. It went further under the carpet when I tried to rescue it

Not as bad as I felt when i remembered the £1.00 under my seat rail after posting the paperwork off accepting the scrapping offer.   Doh.

You will now never be able to sell it. I certainly don't want it. Will happily keep a watch of it on eBay for you though...

Got a new oven delivered to work today off AO.com, our one that we use for drying PCBs was about fucked. Anyway I helped the kid get it off the van and made a passing remark about how all the old appliances he had collected from people were better than the shit I have at home.

He said "take your pick if you want. The woman who we picked this dishwasher up from said it worked 100% but she got a new one to match her washer".

So I got a mint condition Smeg stainless steel dishwasher for nowt and it totally works and everything but it doesn't actually fit in our kitchen.

Plan is to hoik it up stairs to the attic and hang on to it while I get round to redoing the kitchen, cos I'd only have to buy one then anyway. I made the mistake of buying one of these countertop ones and it works dead rate for most stuff but our lass insists on using massive plates that don't fit in it,

A day of tower climbing, exploring and hoonage on the B974 and A93.

I came down the Devil's Elbow on Saturday.

In the '80s it was always a mental road race going home from the skiing. Maybe that was just my mates. More sensible driving these days.

Is that a trail of blood on the seat ?

I came in to find a letter from the tax man. I could feel all the blood draining as I opened it but there was a fuck off big tax rebate in there. Unfortunately I opened it while Mrs C was there so can't blow it all on a supercharged allegro or something I'll probably have to spend some of it on nappies and house stuff but I'm sure some of it will make into the chod collective specifically around getting the Cortina MOT'd again. W@@T

This quote on a for sales advert on the 5 series forum. Now bear in mind the advert is for an E39 M5 that has a 5.0 v8 and only came with a 6 speed manual box.

Nice car at a reasonable price. If it wasnt for the MPG and them being manual, id be all over this.

More relief than grin - I managed to get out of welding repairs to both sills on a colleague's Citroen Pickmyarsehole mot failure. If it had been a couple of holes I might have taken it on but apparently both sides full length are goosed.
