What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

My juke does that. When you press the start button all the lights come on and the speedo and rev counter go right over to the right and back then the car starts . It's good the first 10 times then you're just like hurry up and start already .

Get with the program! Turn the key in the ignition, seatbelt on, close the door, and tuen the key to start it once the glowplug light goes out like it's 1999!

I think most new cars do that, like you say it's only cool for a while. My Pug used to just flick back down when you started it, the Astra ignores you starting the engine and carries on twirling the dials around.

Saw the brilliant Deafschool on Thursday at the Borderline, and haven't stopped grinning since.

Ouote "my son's project car, lots of money spent on it, then hedidn't want it". Now he has buggered off and left daddy to get rid of it.

Is that upholstery good or really really bad ?

It's a boxy Valiant with Mexican blanket seat retrim and a matching roof panel.  What's not to like?  I have relatives in New Zealand, perhaps it's time I started being super nice to them on the run up to Christmas....

Apparently owned by three women who went thirds on it, according to a user on the forum I found this on.

Beat you!  I posted this about 2 years ago. I'm sure it went into the E bay tat thread.

Scored a 25% discount on a circular saw from MachineMart yesterday as it was an overstock that came with no box.

Mmmm, toasty now the fire's lit.

Re: Grump thread, ebay seller bullying me into leaving positive feedback, just reported them via live chat. Three times they asked me to change it. Wouldn't mind but  they're only 98% positive anyway so not like they're chasing the 100% with 14,000+ transactions!

On the way back from work, standing waiting at the crossing, about third in the queue is an old (I'd guess late 80s early 90s) scania 113m, 250 on the badge, red body black wheels, man and wife in the cab, pulling a circus trailer from a big german circus family, Circus Franz Renz.

I cross over and I'm eyeballing the lorry the whole time, driver sees me and I grin, he grins back. Lights change and the traffic moves off. I gave him a wave and shook my fist to say "mach Feuer!" (Give it some) and off he goes with a massive bbbbraaappppp from the twin stacks and a cloud of black clag.

I'm stood there grinning like a loon and waving, he gives the thumbs up and off he goes, made my monday. Fuck all the people waiting in their cars giving me evils and looking like I'm a frigging martian, bollocks to you all. Bbbbrrrraaaaaaaaaaapppppppp!!!!

Interesting coincidence. Whilst at the builders yard tragically underestimating the amount of cement I would need, some ropey looking old truck from a travelling circus (I know nothing about trucks, sorry) rumbled past sounding awesome. If Hollywood ever make a film about supertruck racing, they will all sound like this thing did.

It was pulling three trailers. Apparently here its similar to the UK in that respect ie, road rules dont apply to us because we wouldnt follow them anyway....

Nah the rag and bone man would have that straight off, in the same yard there was a sofa and a mountain of rubbish that was there for about 8 months until the council moved it

Mrs N's Gaylander 2 passenger door won't open from the inside. Obviously my fault ,and whilst she was bollocking me she said " it's like that blue Rover I had years ago that I had to climb in and out through the back "

I'm so proud ,that was a 3500 VdP ,so maybe the Gaylander has got a little Rover DNA it's even the same colour

My brother used to own a Volvo 340 DL 3-door (coupe), the passenger door would never open from inside then one day they unionised and neither the passenger or driver side ones would open.

So we decided that is was just easier to climb out the boot. The most amusing episode was in Ipswich Adsa car park when some of giffers watched in amazement as we rocked up, parked then both climbed out through the boot, locked it and nonchalantly walked away to go shopping.

eventually the MOT rolled around and we got them both fixed, but was fun while it lasted.

Found an email in my junk filter from VW:

The new Passat. As advanced as you are.

Wow, are they doing a retro version with painted dash and rubber mats a la beetle?

Where I work there is a different class of council estate. No zafiras or scenics, oh no, only audi's will do.

It surprising what you can get on motability these days.

That's one way to get round the new "no parking on the roads by school gates" rule.

Yup, our street is full of brand new Qashqais and Focus Cmax things despite the monthly payment on one being double what a 100% mortgage would cost on one of the houses. The bloke next door had his kids climbing on the roof of one a few weeks ago cleaning it with a brillo pad. But his girlfriend has a bad knee so I am completely out of order commenting.

I'm at work so I haven't seen it but my misses said the chap in town who has a driveway full of Suzuki Wizzkids (which I've posted in my spotted thread before) has stared on TV tonight.
