Yes definitely interference. they "spiral" valves, snap guides, push cam bearings out of the head, and snap camshafts. Quite expensive.

Watching this Millionaire Boy Racers thing on Channel 4 about wealthy young Arabs bringing supercars to London and spanking them around all day long.

Fair play to them for willingly spending millions of pounds to look like a bunch of bell-ends and alienating themselves hugely from the local populace while doing so.

Watching this Millionaire Boy Racers thing on Channel 4 about wealthy young Arabs bringing supercars to London and spanking them around all day long..

Seemed to be a bit of a pointless programme in my view, here are a bunch of Arabs making noise around London for a few weeks and here are some people who don't like them - Oh yeh, and look at all the Arabs buying up load of property/businesses etc...

So what :?

There are estates around England who have to put up with this day in day out for all the chavved up Saxo VTRs and stolen mopeds/bikes.

And those Arabs are sad to leave England? I was sad to leave Kuwait when I went there for a few months, I wonder if any of those lads fancy swapping lives?

From one potless Arab who drives a crappy old unpopular car;

Sheikh Mohammed Sterling

Finally got my second round of French dealershite posters through, including two massive Ford posters for Retrogeezeer.

Well worth the wait. They're amazing.

Hey hey. I've been after a set of very rare 16' mk1 Rover 800 alloys for a fair while, I've missed out on a couple before but might have found a good set.

Also this morning whilst on my way to work I stopped at the local petrol station to buy some lunch, whilst getting back into my car, a lad walk up to my car and commented on how clean and rare it was, turns out he is a Rover enthusiast from Scunthorpe. Made my day just having someone say some positive things about my car and recognise for what it is.

That Maserati thread is inspirational.

Almost makes me want to finish ye olde Mk2 Escort...

Bloody hell, there must've been about £10k's worth of filler on the thing. Check out that door skin! He says up to 1inch thick in some places!

Thanks for posting that maser thread, I'm literally reading the knackers off it right now. It's cracking!

That flipping Maser thread is brilliant, great find. I want to be that guy! Absolutely fantastic.

^ You ARE him, but 100,000,000 times cooler because your rotten maser will still be worth nothing when you have finished ;D

My grin?

Real Gibson? (as opposed to surreal Gibson)

Looks a better finish than an Epi, so I'd guess yes.

Also gee-tar related, I'm having a bit of Saturday fun with a scammer who's answered the Gumtree ad for my PRS.

It's the mystery item Pete_M was minding for me all last year until our paths crossed just before christmas.

I had a PRS once for about a month, 20 odd years ago. Very nice, but not "me". Flogged on for a profit.

That guitar is very handsome, but I still prefer your little half-size handmade jobby.

I'm just feeling generally quite good tonight. Not only have I done something that I thought needed doing, and pleased myself with the result; but posting about it on here has produced a lot of warm words from the populace. So to all involved: thank you.

I hope this works, it's Sam Glover firing up his Chaika! Sounds exactly like Christine! :D

Given that I've just been talking about this on another thread, I thought it was worth the effort to find it again. Enjoy!

If that doesn't work, try this...

Mr S.O.C, it is a lovely 'item'. A few of my muso mates wanted it, quite badly.

You could also have a 1:1 scale Dresden or Hamburg in 1945 which would be equally hilarious.

Just found a 4 pack of Becks I put in the downstairs loo before Christmas and forgot about as there was no more room in the kitchen or garage.

Ugh, with that pish I'd cut out the middle man and pour it straight into the toilet.

Anyone watching the program about the Bonneville salt flats on BBC2 right now? it's about British people building cars and bikes to race on the Flat, some very cool machinery so far!

I don't unplug mine as I have one upstairs and another downstairs.

(not that I'm posh or anything).

I used to do work for a lady with two Dysons, on upstairs and one down*, two Mieles**, as previous that were used to pick up the cat hairs that the Dysons wouldn't pick up (she was suing Dyson when she died rather prematurely) and an Electrolux for the cattery (she ran a cat rescue service).

*She was flabbergasted when I demonstrated the extremely long hose for the stairs, hadn't been aware that there was one

**Fantastic cleaners, I'm on my third. Nothing wrong with the first two, just went to good homes (daughters).

It turns out there is a Vacuum cleaner autoshite... http://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD ... D.cgi?9110

Mine is almost identical to the brown one in the first post :)

Lol, I happen to be a member of that, and the yahoo group Hooverland 08808. Have to say I have a larger collection of old hoovers than old cars!

Our daily vaccum cleaner is a Miele that I picked up from the side of the road and rebuilt good as new (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=274892.

Also rebuilt:

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=222573

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=223825

and a few dysons, but not documented them in any great detail. I piss the missus off no end bringing home random bits of cleaner chod, currently run a Hoover Turbopower Total System here and there, that needs rebuilding then boxing up and adding to the collection!

Nice to know there is some crossover between here and vacs, I view them as much the same (tired old manky chod being rebuilt and re-serving a purpose.) I did a comparison between my 1938 Hoover Junior 375 and a DC-14 and the junior did very well.
