Somewhere I’ve been meaning to visit since you were allowed to, out on a walk this morning. Very tranquil with loads of different birdsong too. Completely different to forty years ago. Silos still behind fences, but you get an impression of the size of the whole site. The control tower is now a museum and cafe. Thatcham Reed bed reserve worth a visit too.

Yesterday afternoon when my son got in from the gym he cooked us some Hot & Spicy salmon skewers that he picked up from the Farmfoods next-door to the gym.

We, along with the Mrs, stood in the kitchen trying them and the heat started to come through. I suggested we added a little sweet chilli sauce from the fridge in an attempt to cool them down.

So we continued to dip the salmon in the sauce but the heat was getting unbearable... I'd added scotch bonnet sauce to the plate by mistake 🥵

Was round my friends this afternoon. He'd just changed the antifreeze on his Morgan and wanted to warm it up to get the air out of the system. Best way to do that was to take it for a blast. 

 

It is very fast because... 

Interestingly it uses the standard Rover air filter box but it doesn't quite fit so they beat a dent in the top. Sounds like the sort of bodge I'd do but this is how it comes from Morgan themselves. 

A Morgan with heated seats? 

Well it hasn't yet but its on the to do list so he's put the switch in ready. My friend has had it a few years now and is constantly upgrading it. All the leatherwork you can see here was done by him. He's one of those annoying but useful people to know who can turn his hand to anything and do it well. This car has many mechanical upgrades, steering swapped from box to rack and pinion, uprated suspension, lsd. It goes very well, handles very well and the ride is surprisingly good. I was expecting it to be a lot harsher but it isn't.

Decent quality frozen peas are suitable for eating raw.  Great summer snacks.

 

Wouldn't feed Morrisons peas to anyone even cooked.
