Found this in a charity shop book recently, used as a bookmark. March 1995. No trace of the Volvo online, sadly.

Is this a sign from above to wash the car more often?

I have started to wonder about taking a £100 total shed and putting it up for £800. Then accept the first £350-£400 that is offered.

Isn't that how most independent car sales places work?

I'm particularly looking forward to the Olympics on the moon in 2020 but they're going to have to get a move on to get it ready in 2 years

One of the internal doors in the bakery needs renewing.  We've known about this for months, if not years, it's probably original to the building, which is mid-Victorian.  So I said I'd keep an eye out for a suitable door in a skip, as new ones simply don't come in the same sort of size.

So round the corner from me is a big old pub being converted into "serviced apartments."  I noticed a few weeks ago that a big old door had been left outside on the site and thought it would be about the right size.  Conveniently, it's across the road from one of my deliveries.  So today I asked.  Oh yes, it could be available, £20 sir.  (Which I'm totally sure went straight into the bloke's pocket, but ok, I don't begrudge him some salvage.)  So I finished my round and went back to the bakery to unload and pass on the info to my boss, Brian.  He couldn't get his wallet out fast enough!  "Would you mind going back for it now?"  Not at all Brian, I'm on your time and your diesel so it's fine by me.

Went back, saw the same bloke, collected the door and paid him.  Bloody hell that door's heavy!  It is exactly what we needed for the bakery, but it'll need trimming down before we can fit it.  I wonder who will be doing the work? ;)

I fucking love charity shops, proper shops are boring, all the same, you never know what you'll find inside odd smelling business rates exempt establishments.

This was priced at £8, fuck that, but wait, it's an everything half price day! Might just clean my car now, even has soap for bird shit, comprehensive.

£1. Dated 1993, which is just fine as there was nothing left to learn after 1993, just silliness. Utter silliness.

Behold the quality of content. White coats with breast pockets of multiple biro occupation. These guys KNOW what they're about. Not in the slightest are they ignoring scandalous panel gaps whilst debating VHS v. Betamax.

Look at this definitive who's who list of what matters, albeit with a few queer looking tyre aspect ratios.

I'm ashamed to admit I've only owned 3 of the above, I'll have to pencil something in the empty spot at the end.

I've had 9, but then I'm old, so I had them when they were cheap!

Some right frothing at the mouth coffin dodger at work was going on at me at work because I had the gall to put a fucking cardboard box in ‘his’ skip.

Just watched him piss off through my binoculars and have gone back for three wheeliebins full of waste.

Pick the bones out of that one, wank face.

Wife has a friend coming over later and asked me to tidy the house.

Tidying has consisted of many cups of tea, two episodes of The Grand Tour, and a sandwich.

My sister got through her teenage years with this "chore".

Expect tyres and asbestos back in yours to return the favour?

I don't think he will win, not with the cars Cav can get hold of.

Cut back an ash tree in the garden, very long branches, so as per stuffed them in the local wood (ash grows there so no foul play on my part). Lo and behold, lying there in the bushes is a wheel arch liner from a random GM. Funny that, I'm missing a liner on the PTSD - it's only a bleedin' perfect fit, innit ? :)
