Clearance in B&Q they have reduced loads of their sockets.

54p for 10mm and 13mm, topped up as those are the ones that always go walkabout.

VICTORY!

I've had my fine for failing to pay for crossing the dartford bridge in August overturned and just had to pay the £2.50 toll that I ought to have paid in the first place.

Of course this wouldn't have happened in the first place if they had kept the people imprisoned in the booths that you had to give actual coins to before the barriers went up and let you through like in the good old days but there.

I have now done the automatic payment thing where they have licence to rinse your bank account each time you cross. This will end badly I suspect, though in smaller increments than fines.

At least you didn't get a fine for a car that you no longer own and that was being trailered ffs.

A female friend of mine asked if I had the loo fixed yet. I replied 'No but it's fine if you just wiggle the fill valve. Just like a woman really'.

Her reply was unprintable lol+++++

I'd be interested to find out more Stanky. I paid for one way crossing back in July and it wouldn't let me pay the return journey. I assumed the system hadn't updated and forgot about it then received a letter two weeks ago stating I had a £105 bill.

I was idly browsing my usual half dozen websites while I scoffed some breakfast at work today - I nearly choked on my porridge when I clicked on mx5scotland.com - instead of boring chat about little sports cars, I was faced with a naked lady offering to do rude things to me ! It seems they have been hacked and can't regain control of the mobile site.

Log on with a laptop, see small sports cars

Log on with phone and it's booby time

This month's Octane magazine.

Forget the classic mags and newspapers written by and for riffraff like us.

Octane has a 7 page feature on the Rancho this month, it's actually the immaculate white one with a wheelchair ramp that has appeared on the Tat thread in the past.

Also, some of the Staff cars are of a particularly AS type, Couple of P38s for instance.

Played a cracking gig last night, sell out crowd of 120, great venue, played well, crowd loved it and raised £750 for a charity that supports terminally ill kids. Brilliant night.

The 405 performed admirably in the past week, covering 1000 miles with ease.

Also anyone local to Crieff, get down to Campbells bakery and get yourself a warm Scotch Pie. Unbelievably good for what is is.

Went out with Old Man this morning, goes into B&Q saying he wants a new 1/4" ratchet, looks at the only one they have, says it's too bulky and crap quality. I suggest Halfords, we go in. £5 ratchet or £15 Halfords Advanced one, eh so so he thinks. Looks around a bit, comes back to the ratchets, now I've no idea how but I've ended up with a 3/8" Halfords Advanced socket set

I was driving the maestro yesterday after 3 weeks of not going near it. It's just so great to drive yet looks so fucking awful I love it.

The brakes are shocking mind.

I haven't spoken to the garage yet, but it would appear the Laurel went straight through its MoT today with no failures or even any advisories.

Haven't used the E-reg Sunny for a couple of months as its exhaust needs attention, it probably hasn't been started for 6-7 weeks and I thought the battery would be flat, but after a bit of churning over on the auto choke it fired-up and drove OK. I'll drop that one off at the garage when I collect the Laurel.

The days of worrying about MoTs on the 1200 now appear to be over.......

Last local car boot of the year, even amys excited* to go! Does this give me near free reign?

Posted

The other day my electric tyre pump packed up, it's not that old, but couldn't find the reciept and anyway bound to be just over a year. Took it apart and a cast connecting rod has fractured.

Today bought this in a boot fair for £3.00 and it's better than the broken one!

Not shite related, but the good deed of the day.

I was on the drive and in the garage this afternoon washing the cars and just pottering, when this old boy wandered in.

21687956_10211871450074258_2228953968945

and sat down.No collar or tags,a very friendly old boy,who just sat there.

Mrs V8 came round, what, were did he come from?So her and number 2 son had a walk round the street in case someone had,had a fall and was unable to move.

No one to be found,so buster as he was named was taken into our back garden, fed and watered.

Mrs V8 rang the dog warden, but also put a lost/found post on facebook.

2 hours later a post was put up saying a lady had been seen looking for a lost dog a few streets away.

We had a walk round but couldn't find anyone, stopping to ask a couple of people but no one knew anything or anyone that may have had a old black lab.

Then at the very end of the street a older man was stood close to a young lady in her 20's on her phone. You haven't lost a old black lab have you?

The flood of tears of relief, the older lady owner of the dog was beside herself as he had been away over 2 hours now.

Mason was returned  to his owner, well fed but knacked after a afternoon playing football with my kids in the garden.

That's an interesting answer to the problem of finding a campervan that seats 5-6 people while on the move.

I got round it by using a van old enough that it didn't legally need rear seatbelts because I'm a bad parent.
