I'm off out to a gig tonight : Maiden Scotland - a sctsh Iron Maiden tribute band. I shall report back later on, once many beers have been consumed :)

Brilliant gig - a great band playing a great set of mostly early Maiden songs - aces high, number of the beast, iron maiden, the trooper, rime of the ancient mariner and a stonking version of Run to the Hills at the end ! many beers were consumed and a good time was had by all :)

Have had a lovely day at the Manchester Classic Car Show. Haven't sold a single Ford Escort Mechanics book though. Hoping for more luck tomorrow. Did sell a lot of magazines though. Only one copy of Retro Japanese left!

Been branded a 'know it all on here recently'

There was a Peugeot 405 in my local scrappie with amongst other problems, a rotten roof. You know, where they often rot by the sunroof.

As they had a grinder nearby I chopped a section of roof out and you know what? Not even the smallest trace of underseal was to be found. Well I never. 405s do rot after all ☺

I dunno,these raised a titter...

The pull start on my £20 chinesium mower has been 90% fucked for years, I took it all apart for it's 12 weekly service where I take the carb apart and blow all the grit out of it, scrape the soot off the spark plug and bray all the dr marten boot shaped dents out of the side of it that were causing the shroud to rub on the fan.

This time the pull start fully erupted in cogs and springs and the rewind spring fired off across the garden like a bandsaw blade. I can't believe it's taken me this long to bite the bullet and just chuck it all away and start it properly:

This will save hours of swearing every week, why did I never think of this before?

Those stickers are real BTW, you can order them and pay through Paypal.

I quite like the Paul Walker "Sorry you're dead" one. Or the "Paul Walker Grief Tax Disk"

Thats a ruddy brilliant idea! If you want a new shroud and recoil starter then let me know, but your solution seems rather more effective.

I've been struggling to get a time slot for fettling my Disco in the shared unit recently, not ideal since its MOT is due on Thursday and it needed work.

I managed to get in today for a few hours, enough time to replace one rear wheel bearing (a bastard of a job, it took two hours to remove the hub). I'd originally hoped to replace the bearings on both rear wheels as the horrendous noise made me think that both were suspect, but the test drive revealed that the one I'd done was causing all the noise - Disco now runs nice & quietly, for a Disco  :-)

I'm going to have to cross my fingers for the possibly excessive handbrake travel and the mildly-borked n/s/f anti-roll bar end, I won't get chance to sort them before the test.

I've seen 2 k reg mk1 Mondeo today at Blackpool when I was at the ford day

One was being shown

The other was being driven around, the owner oblivious that they were driving something special and did not appear aware at the ford show going on

I did a little sex wee I was that excited by the hot k reg action

Have a picture or 2 of my saph because the sun was shining, I did laugh because an older lady came up to me to compliment me how shiney it was, she said all of the other cars were dull and mine was the shinyest there, bless her

It's a video of a Blower Bentley being used to tow an LMP class Porsche on a standard car trailer.

I put it in the Bargains thread but I feel I need to shout about it here because it gave me a right old chortle.  EIGHT GRAND being asked for a 1.7 Princess 2 with the wrong door mirrors and a grimy engine bay.  Eight GRAND for a grimy brown Princess!  It's worth about £1500 maximum, £2000 on a really good day/to a really naive buyer.

Fucking lol.

No, even the most awful Princess is worth £6,000 so that sounds like a bargain.

Does anyone want to but a Princess from me? ;-)

It's not an LMP class, it's a Gp.C 962.

Watching YouTube before bed about a mk1 RX7 and I was still thinking about the Peugeot 403. So naturally I dreamt I had a RX7 with a column shift and it was only 1 speed, I was at a motorway services and the on ramp was a muddy farmers field... so, I dunno what to make of it.
