From grump thread:

'Okay no it hasn't, the car has sold already. After one hour of being on auto trader...'

Turns out this wasn't correct, the seller had another car he had sold and thought I was referring to that. He then called me back an hour later apologising and asking what car I meant, and then happily that was still for sale! It's a real gem from the photos, same family owned since new and 12 months MOT with new cambelt too.

So I've left a deposit on my winter (and onwards hopefully) hack. I'm now done with car buying for now. Plan is to keep the 405 and AX also insured, but the former will be a once a week daily or something. Get it sorted out too as it needs a bit of love.

Then hopefully at some point next year I'll be investing in a sensible daily, job permitting.

No.1 son has been learning guitar for a while, he likes Green Day at the moment and has worked his way through a lot of their songs, along with a lot of other stuff

I played him Screeching Weasel - Cool Kids on the way back home and he asked why old songs are better than new ones...He was muttering about needing to find a drummer to play with him at next years Leavers Assembly!

Punks not dead!

Anyway I had some vinyl cutting to do so made him a sticker for his guitar

I don't think he would get the Woody Guthrie part but another of his favourite songs is Tribute so it's kind of apt.

I love loads of stuff, green day is up there for me, but if he wants to see something new that may change his mind I would suggest he has a look at the Marmozets and the Touts, punk is alive and well and the lead singer of the marmozets could be Johnny Lydens bastard child she has so much attitude. They are both unbelieveable live.

I still love this car, those were one of the best Fords ever made. Much nicer than the mundano that replaced them.

I am now a fully qualified interpersonal mediator.  Scary course fees were worthwhile in the end!

You might want to nip over to the climate change thread to see if it was worth the investment.

New wipers all round for £14 on the Megane, what a difference fresh rubber makes.

"Our tow car of choice seems to be causing quite a stir en route to Angouleme. We can't work out if Martin is a genius or crazy, perhaps both?

To confirm, yes, that is a 1929 Bentley Blower towing a Porsche 962. All the way from Guildford, England."

I was about to leave car park in town today and noticed a funny looking dog in the back of one of the cars. It took me a while to work out that it was not a dog but a goat, I am now kicking myself for not taking a photograph.

Following a petrol c5 onto the Dublin boat

Looking at the tailgate thinking fuck who's hand painted that

Then read a sticker in window

Wow, that's a hell of a trek for a banger rally.

I think I've been further than that for lunch.

Last time I saw my uncle he'd just been made redundant, so him and his girlfriend agreed they needed to sell a few cars.

I bumped into him this morning on the way to pick up number 17 (a Range Rover...)

Just realised I've passed the 10,000 post mark.  I realise that's rather pathetic compared to some, especially since I've been here nearly 11 years, but still not bad for somebody as generally uninteresting as me.
