What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Finding out a suspicious clonk that I thought was a suspension bush was in fact my bottle jack knocking on the spare wheel brace.

That's always a winner.  Mine was a clonk from the front of the Cavalier, which was cured simultaneously with finding my 1/2"-drive 13mm socket which had been missing for some time...

The 205's sat on the drive for over a month, in all weathers, while I've been off to Gibraltar and even more exotic places like the Isle of Wight, Manchester and Lincolnshire.  I was ready this morning to have to spend considerable time in the teeth of Storm Angus persuading it to return to the land of the living.

Started first turn of the key, bless its little tinfoil heart.

  ^_^

Back from another fleeting trip to That London again to collect my Christmas present what I bought on eBay - a Yamaha DX7 (no that's not a moped). The mother offered to buy me one when I mentioned it in passing and she and I have no idea what else I want, so I've gone with it, because never drive a steam train into a gift horse head on, or something.

I arrived on Friday and as me and my uncle were walking to the pub RobT passed by in the Senator!

I was having a piss in the conveniences at the Cambridge services on Sunday when I heard groans coming from the direction of the cubicles. It sounded as if someone was shitting a pineapple whole, and most of the folks urinating at the adjacent stalls were chuckling as the grunts got more urgent. The jollity evaporated when a couple emerged from the shower, apparently fresh from an invigorating bum.

What a load of bollocks. If someone's an alcoholic you don't buy them another drink, and you don't encourage school-runners to drive Audi Q7s buy increasing the size of parking spaces in the ASDA 200 yards from home. However there should be dedicated large spaces for LS400s and 90s American imports.

Amateur.

You should see where I parallel park my LS400. My neighbours seem to find it difficult to park a Fiesta in front of their house, while I swing my LS400 into the space in front of my (identical) house no problem. As Tayne said yesterday, almost have a whole house-width of car.

Just bought some seatbelts for the back of the Toledo from ebay and used my nectar points saving me £50!

You can spend nectar points on eBay ? I wasted mine on such mundanities as a kettle and toaster :(

I rack up loads of nectar points on ebay. Trouble is they amount to fuck all real money, or at least that's what Amy says when she goes to spend them

our cat was brought back home today by an RSPCA bloke

Been given a bloody massive free computer desk! Good excuse to get my bedroom in order, and it looks like I might actually have enough space for all my compu-crap when I'm done installing it.

Two odd conversions seen today which made me smile. The first (for the second time this week) was a Volvo V40 pickup, then later on an Alfa 155 or 156 estate converted to 3dr panel van and I think being used by an Alfa/Italian car specialist.

Much shite spottage today, Spotted a late 50s early 60s caravan in nice order with a black and white 6 digit number plate on the back, parked next to it was a polished Maxi with towbar.

Further down the street was a G plate XR4x4 that had obviously not moved for ages, followed a few houses later by a returning to nature orange Austin 1100.

Will have to go and knock about the Sierra, the motor would be a handy spare

10,000 points work out as £50 so it takes a long time to rack up enough points for anything but better than nothing!

Thank you. A bit slow at the minute but I will do anything. Wont/can't do tip runs at the minute due to 250 quid charge for waste licence.

If you do go for that licence, make sure you put it in as much publicity material as possible to show you are "on the level". But do check if it has restrictions and you have to buy extra bits for extra types of rubbish.

Exceedingly happy to have driven my friend's Commer, possibly its first motion under its own power for nearly 40 years.  Very mixed emotions though as it is very sad that he didn't survive to see this day.  MOT soon.

Back from another fleeting trip to That London

I arrived on Friday and as me and my uncle were walking to the pub RobT passed by in the Senator!

Down Beckenham high street by the Ye Olde George? I was on my way out to do the weekly food shop. Most normal people are out enjoying themselves, but no I was off to Sainsburys!

It died on me when I got home as the battery is shit, coupled with recent short trips and it getting colder. Mrs T had to help push it out of the way, but 10mins on the CTEK and it was moveable again.

Must have been after that, it was on Rectory Road heading away from the centre, meanwhile I was heading towards Penge. Friday night's a good time for food shopping in fairness! Least it had the grace to wait until you were home instead of stranding you in the town centre on a Friday evening.
