Just ask mr 17-Coffees about Abarth 595s. Just don't crash it into a deer like he did.

She could be in for an entertaining day. Isn't snow a possibility in Yorkshire today?

Yes, I threw a shovel and sleeping bag in the boot before she left, can you tell I was Boy Scout?

Apparently I can get insurance for a 190hp Abarth 695 for less than it would cost for a povvo one. Worst idea ever? No back seats to put the pizzas on mind you, but a very spacious boot.

Lack of a stereo isn't handy also.

But fast, so very fast.

Not very autoshite I know, but I've been shopping for a modern daily so I can focus on Pugsley more without a daily to worry about disintegrating.

It's Flux, all their quotes are suspiciously cheap. Not heard much good about them.

I have been with them for years and never had an issue. I have heard that getting pay outs for total loss can be quite involved though.

I flippin love my 595. I got the 160hp one and it's ace, but you wouldn't see more than low 30s MPG round the houses.

So glad we've not got TV I know nothing about how the American election is going, nor do I wish to know. Radio is turned off too.

Silly friends* on Facebook getting wound up about it - the same ones who got upset about Brexit in the main. Apparently as I'm from the 'winning'* side I should currently be trying on black shirts and having Oswald Mosley grown again from a DNA sample. Luckily I don't have to look at Facebook either :)

Abarth 595s are a F**kin LARF. Fantastically speedy little things that don't mess around. I've driven a fair few of them and had them over the weekend from work, had people stop me in traffic asking all sorts of questions about them/asking me to rev it up etc... they really are wonderful little things.

I just scored 4 x good used Vredestein tyres for my Seat Ibiza off facebook for £30

Doesn't look a suitable car for someone 'disabled'

Doesn't compute?

Went to see 2 Seat Leons in the Toledo last night.

2 out of 2 vendors correctly identified it and asked for a wee look.

I paid a fair bit less than that and whoever got yours had a bargain too. They seem to go for £120 ish if they are in the sticks and around £150-180 if they are in a central area or London. Not easy things to post! But you are right, prices are all over the shop, one guy is after £400 for one so will have it a while I think.

Did you ever run yours with a separate cab? I am trying to find out if I can daisy chain it to a 24" Peavey cab we have at work.

The honest answer is that I can't remember! I definitely used the FX loop output to feed another amp+cab (an SWR PB 200 paired with a Trace Elliot 4x10), and the fact that I did that suggests I wasn't able to make use of the 4x10 directly from the B150, but I couldn't swear to it.

What is a "suitable" car for someone "disabled"?

Ben

Preferably something with easy access reasonable suspension and tyres unlike laccy bands.

 Of course it is.

They often spit the gearbox input shaft bearing out just like Cav's Punto - handily disabling the car so you both match.

So after two and a half years of tele-sales asking to speak to the previous tenant of the workshop and me saying he doesn't work here anymore I've finally sussed it.A couple of months ago I found out he works part time in a garage about ten miles away so today I googled their number. This morning the first one got "have you got a pen ? this is his new number **** ****" and he deals with the insurance "yes that's right.Don't phone here phone the number I just gave you.Cheerio"

The second one this afternoon got the same. And he still deals with the energy contracts ? "yes that's right.Don't phone here phone the number I just gave you".

The days of telling these people he doesn't work anymore and putting the phone down before they ask other questions are now gone.

I'm not gonna make a massive deal out of this, but not all disabled people are in wheelchairs, or have poor mobility, or whatever it is that makes squishy tyres spring to mind.

We've just broken records at the Paralympics with seriously talented disabled people who can do mind blowing stuff. Hardly Doris and George who need to get to Asda on a Thursday. Who says they can't hoon a car around?

In the office today I was sitting next to one of my staff, Swedish blonde girl, when another girl asked her what her part of Switzerland was like " I'm not from Switzerland" next question was " Bet your glad you don't come from that country where it's dark all winter" ..."Erm, yeah I do, it is in Sweden" .
