I came back in from peeing about with a mates car and mrs fp had signed for a parcel for me, I was met with boxes that look like they have been gathering dust in a warehouse for years which is always a good sign

Do NOT drop a knife on your only partial denture bursting the tooth off just before you go on holiday for a week. Fuck I look like a right fucking hillbilly.

If that's winter over, we got away lightly.

Erm, would anyone like to purchase a Winchester 1866 rifle REPLICA I believe it's a Denix.

I would love to strap it to the wall, but I know i'm going to end up getting raided and shot in the face accidentally by the police/anti-terrorism specialists.

£85 delivered?

Uncovered my shiny shite and took it for a drink of Shell V Max before a quick Italian tune up.

It's sadly been under cover since November so great to sit in it again and after a few turns to pump some fuel in it fired straight up without even having to charge the battery.

I have just received, through the post, a tape! Aerosmith: Big Ones. I shall take off the old roof ('tis both warm and sunny today - summer for the next three days then straight into autumn) and regale the world with decent muzak played at a volume inconsistent with my advanced years :)

I have a day off today, I have to use up all my annual leave before I retire in three weeks time. (I did say they could give me the money instead, but apparently not). So far taken the dogs out in batches, done two loads of washing, painted a door, been to the tip, been to the shop, took Toby (the brown spaniel) with me when I went out. On his own he's a great dog, it's just when he's with the others he always beats them up to stop them talking to anyone else. As I was passing I called in to work just to say hello - Toby likes my workplace as they gave him a biscuit, he also liked the pub in Cowbridge where we had coffee (where he also had a biscuit).

I think I will get used to retirement quite quickly.

I have got a garage!

Just driving up to take the dogs out and... what was that? Did that say: garage for rent?

So I took the dogs for a walk (they doing my head in so it had to be them first) and then went back and had a look. Yep, large double garage to rent, £100 per month. Just been and had a look at it, the Bentley will fit in fine with loads of space for all the guff I have in storage so £20 a month extra to store my car, in the dry, safe and sound, polished.... Also, will have all my tools with me for the first time so can 'fettle' to my hearts (and healths) content. No electric but you can't have everything!

Happy....

Thats cheap. Would be even better if there was water so you can wash the car as well. Happy moving in.

Funny looking banananas.  Are they EU approved?

I was chatting to a local fell running legend about cars; he's seen the 2cv pics on Facebook, I mentioned the allegro, he has seen Mat-the-Cat's Stellar etc etc

Anyway...

The convo continues through a 3litre ford pop and some imps when he says

"Blah blah perkins diesel. Yes a Perkins diesel fitted to an Austin...."

My face was like :o no way! :D

"...Cambridge"

:(

So close.

It looks very similar to the S/V70 auto gearlever if that helps.

I've been trying to get bits for my van but even sundry items are nearly the same price as VW charges for new parts.

Need a cheap banger for a few months... ah, a lovely S70 2.5 for £325.......... £2495 insurance.  :-o

I am grinning right now because of how many colekshun threads I can go into and basically post "Oh yes, mine was..." or "My x or y had one of those" or "I FREAKIN' LOVE THAT".

Seems like I was always destined to like chod, even if my spanner wielding abilities and lack of any available drive/garage space to practice such abilities prohibit me from fully indulging in the retrieval of dead French cars from the middle of car-boot sales.

My new exhaust fits! And doesnt catch on anything so the suicide drone has stopped!

This means I can spend next week trying to hear why its been running so shit recently... everything's been drowned out by the exhaust though so this has not been identified yet
