What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I'm down to just 2 pieces of artwork to clear by the 1st of December to have all of my backlog of work from being ill cleared.  I won't hit that deadline, but I'll come really close, I reckon I'll be a week over.  Huge sense of achievement really.

As I've been getting better it's allowed me to get out of the trenches and actually take some action on making my business more streamlined, and identifying problems.  Perhaps I needed my health to absolute collapse to give me some perspective.  I can see a way out now, I just have to be patient with everything.  December is going to be slow, it always is, and right now that's a good thing.  I can do a light overhaul of the website, have already overhauled my systems for keeping track of updates, and figured out some stuff I can chop out that were wasting time and not earning me anything.

I'm feeling more positive about my future today than I have in a while, even though I still don't have any definitive answers as to what actually happened to my health.  I feel like I can manage it and move forward safely again.

That's fantastic. It deserved an 8 pot from the outset, and that setup certainly wouldn't disappoint...

Major surgery but worthy end result. Shame about the exhaust outlet treatment though.

In a main Mercedes dealership just now with 2 female service advisors on the front desk. Not sure what the start of the conversation was but as I walked past 1 said "I'm lucky, my boobs are still quite perky and not droopy, but I haven't had kids"

Today I got the news that my current fixed term job role has received approval to be made permanent. I’m a very happy chap as a result!

Was writing a massive rant in the grumpy thread about the local heating firm not showing up, and midway through, they did! I clearly need to start typing rants more.

Further to my recent grump about eBay deliveries being screwed up - I lost one of my Torx spanners recently (think I left it under the bonnet of the Merc 😖), ordered a replacement off eBay at 3pm yesterday afternoon and it dropped through my letterbox at 9:30 this morning.  Which is bloody impressive by anyone's standards.

I ordered a battery for the ASX from Tayna on ebay 17.10 last night, just arrived....  cracking service again from Tayna

Got a reduced Terry's chocolate orange dark.

You might find some superficial damage to the box, but the chocolate's perfectly edible

As today is the famous "black Friday" I thought I'd share a short tale.

I bought a new hard drive for my PC the other day, because I thought there's no way it'll be much cheaper than what it was on that particular day. A Western Digital SN770 2tb NVME. £92 delivered from Overclockers.

Checked today and lo and behold, it's gone up to £120.

Amazon even have "Black Friday deal" on their listing. That's £119.99 too.

I'm convinced that it is nothing but a con.

Don't go near any shops on Black Friday.

I passed through our local 'shopping mall'  yesterday, rarely go there, too many people and hardly anything I would want.

What I did notice was the abundance of tat, mainly glittery, shiny tat.  Wouldn't give any of it houseroom.

I think I am in the wrong thread :)

Oh, they're back on the shitlist.

"The part for your boiler is obsolete. We recommend you buy a new boiler."

The part that's in stock right now at Toolstation, Wolseley and at least 2 or 3 other companies within 5 minutes of googling?

I’ve just placed an order for some stuff I needed and was going to buy online anyway, because it’s today there’s 20% off and free delivery. So an actual saving.

I fecked up and placed a FleaBay order last night for some stuff - turns out TopCashBack are offering an extra 10% for eBay today :-(

I did find, though, that most of the 'bargains' on eBay  can be fairly easily found elsewhere on the internet at the same prices without jumping through hoops - e.g. cheap and nasty Freeloader back box is about £52. CarPartsinMotion had one for £62 yesterday but there was a eBay 20% Black Friday thing that brought that down to pretty much the same price. Big bonus was that the thing turned up at 10am this morning - very impressed. Very happy.
