Had the new car for just over a year now, this morning it pinged up tyre pressure monitoring fault, reset required. Naturally i had to did out the manual and read through to find out how. All ok now. In reading the manual I realised I didn’t have android auto set up, and as I now have a phone capable of doing this have now done so. I had previously thought that connecting the phone on Bluetooth was android auto. But now I know. Modern cars eh!

Insurance & legal concerns - are they still mixing radials and cross plies?

I guess he's getting confused with different sizes with regards to legal/insurance implications, and now he's realized his mistake he can't face the embarrassment 🤷

Just done a bizarro land prolific study.

Company X makes a dehumidifier product. It sells better than other brands, but performs similarly. Some people like to compare products to people. Imagine the dehumidifier is called Curtis. Describe Curtis.

???????????

Decided to channel pulp fiction and said he was black, bald, doesn't look like a bitch. Wonder if I'll get my 20p?

WTF is a land prolific study. Land. Prolific. Yes, it's lying around all over the place.

My brother is insane. He wants a stop gap car as his Volvo lease has just finished.

He's thinking about a 2.2 Sorrento in fucking Liverpool, only 3 hours away that looks like an Eastern european special. Bear in mind the mental cunt hasn't got a car to go and look at it.

I just found him a couple of year older, lower mileage Touran 5 minutes away, that's half the price, but apparently that isn't good enough.

The Sorrento seller will deliver it too apparently.

So via an X-trail made of rust in Steptoe's Scunthorpe cousin's yard, We went to see the Touran.  Apart from a couple of age related marks, it'll more than do what he needs. He's gone for it.  It's literally just had a service, clutch, flywheel, front discs and pads and two front tyres. MOT till Aug 24, 1 owner and 80k miles. It seems a decent thing.

Why would you give a machine a name? It's not a car, FFS! :)

Was unaware of this place. Thought I'd drop in on my way to Blackpool sometime.

But at £10 each and no Seddons I'll probably give it a miss.

Dutchman watching a report about the floods in Libya sees a stolen Astra. It went missing in Nov. 2021.

When we bought my wife's astra, I noted that the tyres were average. 2 different brands, but during the discussion about the value of our trade in and the price, I choose to ignore it.

Went to pick the car up 6 days later after "sales prep" had look at it.  4 new Nangkings, a new back box, new discs and pads all round.

Pity they didn't throw a gearbox and 2 rear springs in the boot, just in case. (4years later they could have been useful

That's Bristol Street Motors Macclesfield.

I have a brand new £50 odd k lease car that has had 2 tyre replacements ... is awd but they just stick anything on as long as branded

Came with 4 Bridgestone s new

Now has 1 pirelli pzero and 1 Michelin pilot sport

But being 20 inch wheels tyre stocks are limited

Even the expensive cars dealers and lease companies don't care about same tyres

Here's the photo I was actually looking for - I saw this in real life and thought I was having a bloody stroke or something:

It's a normal, production vehicle too, thousands made on the 23 inch wheelbase.

@Mally, just for you pal.  This is one of a small number of wagons my uncle Tony restored while he was a mechanic for Whitbreads in Blackburn when I was little. The photo above is of him and my dad on the London to Brighton (on overtime!!) He also did a Thorneycroft 6 wheeler that my dad used to drive on the runs in Duttons of Blackburn livery.

Nurse let me out yesterday to drive her and her neddy over to civilisation (England, Herefordshire - cue 'Jerusalem' being sung at the border) so I got to see some modern stuff as opposed to the average old stuff we see here.
Ford EcoSport? Ugliest smol car I've seen in years, so ugly it stood out in the amassed blobdem that is traffic these days - I honestly would add that to the 'cars you never knew existed thread' if I could stand the abuse I'd get.

Kwik Fit in "surprisingly not shit" shocker

Looking for a tyre place to sort my puncture/change the tyre if necessary, happened to see a local Kwik Fit had sod all cars in and looked deserted so chanced my arm.

From pulling onto the forecourt to driving off with a fixed puncture, in 15 minutes. No upsell, no hassle, absolutely cannot fault them.
