I bought my washer dryer secondhand 6 years ago and it's still going strong.  Replaced my previous (also secondhand) machine which lasted me 8 years before shitting its drum bearings.

This has not made me grin. It has made me happy.

All this rubbish in the press about Dutch cycle lanes is a myth and this video helps to expose that. It has taken a Romanian, living in The Netherlands, to do this.

Mine typically last 1-3 years, on 2-3 hours a day max, not much over 1-3000 hrs.

Thinking maybe the cycling on off on off on off is what drives the life expectancy down. Maybe being constantly on, at a rarely fluctuating temperature is better than being cycled up or down in temp.

I read somewhere recently that some idiots had formed an Austin Allegro Owner's Club. One wonders about the sanity of these people. Perhaps the same people are about to start enthusing over Mk1 Austin Maxis, Triumph Toledos, Cortina Mk3s, Austin Princess 1800 and Reliant three wheelers.
