ah that happened when i had the "new" fire place fitted about 12 years ago....

 

see when i moved into the house, it had a gas back boiler with a fire in a teak box sortta hanging out of the chimey breast. now the fact that it was as ugly as sin, the bloody thing sloped down on one side!!

 

aftet looking at it for 6 months or so, i had it pulled out and the current pme put in. and the parer got torn whenthe plumber knocked out some of the bricks to get at the pld boiler.

 

and i never did much to put it right afterwards, one of the joys? bonusses? of living on your own (at the time)

 

plus i don't like the whole decorating thing, i find the mess and upheaval difficult to handle!

Went to Blackpool earlier on today to pick up our new tv that mrs fp nought on ebay (brand new just collection only) and what a day for spotting stuff, I couldn't photograph everything

This was the chariot of choice kindly lent by mil fp due to the tv in its box being too big for the saph, it's really not bad for a 3 pot turbo

Today I played with the mx5. Many swears, nice weather and shiny things fitted.

Today I was sat in traffic on the A14 when a D reg 190 joined in front of me.

 

It looked well used, but in reasonable nick but what struck me sitting behind it was the smell.

 

Either a bit rich or with the choke still out, it was a smell I've not experienced for a long time.

 

It probably took weeks off my life expectancy, but it was worth it.

Going out for a work colleague's leaving do (blonde,beautifully constructed, will be much missed) and absolutely thrashing my arrogant manager at pool. It's the little things..

today has been a good day...

 

today we have been over to fiddle somemore with the balck mini (see, no names called, its been a good day)

 

put the passenger seat where the drivers seat was, and the drivers seat where the passengers was. and took the seat extenders back off.

 

the reason? kerry who is a couple of inches shorter than me has been unable to adjust to the repositioned seat. hence leave the seat where it is, and only i will be driving it,... thus making addiing her to the insurance a moot point. now ok, i think it was next to now't to add kerry, but if we both cannot drive (and enjoy) the car then that means only i will be driving it, even if i don't want to.

 

so, put the seats back where they were. took it for a quick run into town, and it seemed ok. now by ok, the gears are hard at times to select (cos worn clutch) but that is getting done tomorrow, and it was easy enough for me to cope with. 

 

it has also been pointed out that when i have driven the car and hated it, i was wearing Dr Martin's, heeled boots or some other pair of inappropreate shoes. today cos its been nice and warm, i have been mostly wearing little flat pump things, and again at the unit when i drove it i was wearing trainers....

 

so, the point of today? other than actually for the most part getting along with the car, has been that i will have to wear something sensible* or appropreate* on my feet if i drive the balck mini.

 

plus as a means of bonding with said car (see, its been a good day, so no name calling....) we have treated it to some polish. and what a little bobby dazeller it looks, very shiney now indeed. no pics cos i didn't have the camera, but some tomorrow while clutch is getting done.

I used to only wear one pair of shoes when driving my Midget, any other pair were too wide & pressing the brake always did all three pedals. It's suprising how much difference it makes.
