It's one of those times when I didn't have my camera to hand to photograph the shonkyness of it, but on the Lawrence Hill roundabout in Bristol, Tuesday at 4:10pm: an utterly clatty blue 04-reg Daewoo Matiz being enthusiastically driven, with an 8-inch-long rust patch at the back of the sill, and a 6-inch hole in the centre of the rust patch surrounded by the yellow crayon-of-death!

For what it's worth, with all the chelping over the past few weeks over what Autoshite is, was, wasn't and will never be; I'd like to state that the front page has a fucking Rancho collection thread, a Kia Shuma getting prettied up, a brown Allegro VP, A Renner Twenty without ISIS, various Jaaaags and a Rover 600. No bangernomics there, just quality choddage and long may it continue.

(Just thought I'd point this out as every 3.7 weeks when we have the "bah it's shit it's shit it's all shit" it's always pointed out that nobody ever points out when there's good content)

I hope my Rover doesn't count as bangernomics, on account of me already spending 50% of the purchase price on repairs and upkeep. 89999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999iikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkki8888888888

Naaah, a 600 is proper AS material.... Plus I can't imagine you fitting scrapyard brake pads to it.

I feel guilty enough fitting a part-worn tyre to it. Will be chucking a full set of something decent on it if I decide it's a keeper. Possibly on a set of steelies so I can go back to a decent bloody sidewall profile.

I treat myself to some tools, they just arrived!

After rounding off a brake pipe Union on the zx and just getting it nipped up with mole grips I didn't fancy doing that with an lhm pipe...

Just insured my pickup............60 quid for year!!........only 3000 miles but that should easily cover the little bit of running about I'll do.

Same people quoted 87 earlier in the year and I was happy enough at that.

Aye, I'll third that. Due to Easyjet not having a fucking clue how to get the right plane in the right place at the right time.

Still, at least I made it through security with a Jaguar S-Type coolant expansion tank in my carry on bag...

Saw a Nissan Kashcow with the bonnet up at the side of a bit of duel carriageway A27. The chap wanders out with a warning triangle and places it up the road in front of the car! Shame I wasn't quick enough to get a photo!

Today's tip of the day -

Welcome your new neighbours when introducing yourself by saying

'I'm surprised anyone moved in after the horrific events what occurred in that house . .... They never found two of the bodies'

And at night lay flowers by the front gate :-)

Ahh cutie little foxy ! They don't seem so cute when you see their aftermath on a young lamb or even a fully grown sheep . Not a fan I'm afraid

I am on a classic cars for sale page on Facebook and this is up for £9k.

I didn't believe it was possible to build an entire vehicle out of wob before but here I am being proved wrong.

So, the daughter hit 16 a few months back. Tonight her boyfriend is staying over for the first time. Being cool parents, we've had the chat and also went out earlier to buy a bit of protection. No, not waxoyl.

So we're stood at Tesco checkouts, not having had the chat yet, paying for a bit of shopping including beer and condoms. Mrs_Pillock sticks the condoms in the bag and for SOME BIZARRE REASON says to nobody in particular "Not really looking forward to having to do this". Except the checkout lass hears, looks at what's just gone in the bag and kind of gives us both the WTF look.

I had my East Coast Retros car meet tonight, considering the crap weather we got a good turn out and everyone had a great time.

It was good to meet the very nice and very tall Bfg who kindly lent me his umbrella and it was nice to see Dugoug again who drove down from Peterborough in the Xedos 6 which reminded me of a saloon version of a Ford Probe, it was very quiet! We had a little drive of a Mk2 Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X Estate auto, i know want another Mondeo V6 again!

I've just read the advert it has apparently " everything you need to go campervanning" except there's no mention of an on board cludgey nor whether it would be holding up commercial vehicles on the motorway...

A 1600cc 50hp aircooled engine propelling that amount of wob around? You would be holding up a funeral procession with that.

Imagine the brown streaks which will appear the first time that tupperware pot looking heap sees some rain. The guy should be punting it as self ratlooking and ask a couple more grand.

They are all like that sir, one of the 'joys' is the always empty road stretching out in front for as far as the eye can see, just tilt the mirrors down and you can't see the poor buggers suffering in the two mile long queue behind you. I had one for a while and they are hateful things, I sold it for many reasons, one of which was that despite buying it to go camping in, it was at the beginning of the dub fashion crap and we kept getting idiots dressed thirty years too young telling us we should lower it or put shit on the roof. Why? We want to go camping not look like idiots.

I spent years in the VW scene and would still rather a nice practical LDV or Bedford CF than anything Type 2 for camping.

The way to do it is strip out and increase power.
