Watch your bank balance plummet now bramz as you put fuel in, tax, insurance, 3am McDonald's runs etc!

Just checked on the Internet, and the xantia is still showing as taxed. Do I just wait for it to say not taxed, or go online later and tax her under my name?

That was quick too. Tax asap chap. Online runs back a bit!

Bloody hell! :)

This afternoon has resulted in spottage:

A 'Trebor' champagne coloured SD1

A silver Rover 800 series saloon

A Crystal Green 'Tina

All seen within 10 mins. Much amazed!

I'm sitting outside with a glass of Burgogne aligote having a read while the oven warms up.

Rural idyl photo.....

Neighbour's with the new RR sport have just walked past to go and look after the "Wessex's Ducks" whilst they're away. Could be a hanging offence if they die! Anyway have offered to bring me some chard and courgettes from the Royal kitchen garden.

Last year when the royals were away up at balmoral all hell broke loose when the police lost one of the dogs! Everything short of the Surrey police helicopter came to find her.

How many Rover SD1 estates exist? Two of course, one at Gaydon and the other in the Haynes museum.

WRONG! Tried to buy a Maxi yesterday and lost out on it, but the seller also has this stashed away in his collection

SD1.jpg

It's a DIY job using a Volvo 245 back end. Part Rover, part Volvo, all awesome. Of course I tried to buy it but he won't sell this one :(

More than a little of the banana shape though. Decent load carrier on a par with the cx Safari.

And here we have folks one of prince Edward's courgettes ( stop sniggering at the back!).

Yep, nice and quick! Shes up to 10 owners on the v5 now, most of them from here!

Ill tax her Monday morning before work, we all know it doesn't work on Sundays unlike the rest of the Internet!

/\ Is that 'Cure & Simple'?

We recently had them sign up as a customer at work and I thought what a good idea it looked. Let me know what the verdict is and I may subscribe myself.

Yup, Cure and Simple. The pack that came with the gift box was bloody lovely, so I've signed up for fortnightly mixed packs including Cajun and stuff as well as smoked and traditional. A world away from supermarket stuff.

I dunno why, but I found the video accompanying the radio-code-finder website posted on the Barrett NA Xantia thread is hugely amusing, unnecessary and very pleasant in this internet world of 'tough luck if you don't understand our shit instructions'.

As mentioned in another thread, seeing a little Austin A35 driving about yesterday afternoon and having to do a double-take as it was Scruff at the wheel.

Freelander of much freeness has been swapped. For an S-Type Jag. This makes me happy.

I'm happy because I got to not only take an angle grinder to rust on the Princess but also got to drive it a little tiny bit today.  :D  I love this car.

I have just had the acknowledgement slip through so I don't think two of the owners will be listed!

I think DVLA are getting confused, it's only a matter of time before everyone on autoshite has owned all the cars. Perhaps we could shortcut this by getting everything registered to a PO Box Number.

On Radio 4 at lunchtime there was a feature on spontaneously combusting Zafiras, usual stuff about recalls etc. The angle was that dealers ( and Motobility) are selling them on without telling people, this could* be a criminal offence apparently.

They had an interview with a woman ( possibly Stacey) , her first words were.

" The day after we bought it , me and my partner were going for tattoos in Southend........."

Stereotype? What stereotype ?

Saw this on the BBC News website - how the fuck are dealers meant to know about every possible recall for their stock - surely it's up to the manufacturer to contact subsequent owners using data from DVLA

(granted the Zafira B recall is a well known one)

^ Irrational whingeing and moaning on a BBC consumer programme?  Surely not.

(Not that I think it's ok for Zafiras to spontaneously catch fire... although come to think of it...)

Sympathies to Cavcraft and family, just saw your post.  That's awful, the worst.  I hope we can at least provide some positive distraction from time to time.

Chap over the way had his new Astra/Corsa VXR thing catch fire one night while everyone was asleep. Seemed to start in the centre console/dashboard as both front seats, dash, headlining etc all copped it. Vauxhall said he left a fag in the ashtray burning....

Todays, grin though... my mate Hubert (God, I could do pages of posts about him alone - a gay Polish, dog owning DIY freak that has a Zafira and hates cars...) was helping me move some more old crap out of the garage and he was moving/re-assembling my toolboxes for me, and looking at the welder and fuck off great big (and new!) compressor and asked 'Why you take all cars to garage? With this lot surely you do it yourself?'

It's the way he says it... other current fave of his is imitating that Boxer dog on the clear score advert. 'What doing?' I swear I'm going to smack him one of these days, but I'm afraid he might like it! :)

Please note: no offence is meant to any gay/hetro/bi/bi curious/transgender/ person on here living or dead (it is difficult to tell with some posters :)  ) my favourite people in the world (I think) are gay blokes. Known quite a few and they have all been lovely people. Gay women on the other hand are NOTHING like they appear on YouPorn :)  I've often thought it a shame that I cannot fancy geezers/blokes/gentlemen.

My grin today. I have replaced the roofing felt and some timber on my big shed, all by myself! Had various quotes, some timber was rotten etc. Best quote was £450. Can't afford that.

Bought the required timber, felt, nails etc and just had a go. Never done it before, but nothing to lose. Took 5 hours, lost a lot of skin from my knees but job jobbed. Total cost £88.95. Shed is around 10' by 10'.

Now good for another few years I reckon!

Was that you who asked if you could take the five sheets of sterling board out of the skip today?

Another shed roof fixed cheaply.

It'll probably do 45mph at the expense of your ear drums...
