My Second home is sick. Drove back from heathrow the other night and noticed, when slightly turning left on the motorway a high frequency vibration through the steering wheel. To be honest its probably been there for a while, but just thought it was the road surface. Anyway, two hour break in the weather this morning, some seriously tight bolts later, revealed:post-6586-0-14671200-1447855571_thumb.jpg Totally fu***d bearing.

I have ordered the bits, plus two new discs and pads for less than £100. Bargain! I hope the bearings come already pressed into place. Chucking it down again. Parts should be here tomorrow, lets hope its a bit drier.post-6586-0-22060700-1447856021_thumb.jpg

Thanks to Mr. Our Geezer, I haz a new battery for the meriva of much annoyance! Thanks Tim, I'll return your money next week.

I got 2 parcels though, 1 had the battery in, and a seperate, fully paid up small box with http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-parts/car-body-parts-and-car-exhaust/exhausts/exhaust-parts/?997779994&0&in. Noice! (The ice scraper has a chip in the middle, and I find the heavy rubber blade on the back of my old ice scraper better at getting rid of ice but the thought is nice. £19.99 list price though, feck paying that!)

I'll fit it tomorrow, will be dark when I get home tonight. Will be dark when I get home tomorrow thinking about it..

I'm going to lose my job.

Fuck.

Shit man. Bad times :(

Welcome to my world...

That said, you'll probably stand a better chance of getting back into work than me. Good luck, if there is any assistance I can offer, please let me know.

There is a lot of water about, and I recon myself to be a bit of a Tom Sawyer, so I built myself a raft out of oil drums and bits of scrap carpet.

Quick bit of news here to let you all know I'm on temporary internet until the start of December (cheers BT, Plusnet are ready to go now but you want to drag your arses connecting us) and the house move went very smoothly.  New house is AMAZING, it's hard to believe how we tolerated old house for as long as we did.

Didn't enjoy having to throw mouldy things away.  I've never moved house and found mouldy things before.  Old house really was very bad indeed.

Bad news indeed Junkman

Lost mine May 2014 and aye - still on the trash heap of ''sorry you seem to be over qualified for this position''

''Look I dont fucking care if I am, I just need something to occupy my mind - instead of looking at day time TV FFS ''

Long drive today - South west Cornwall to Guildford for an adjustment on my braces, then back again.

Bet they give me a diesel Peugeot for the journey again, they used to just pay for my fuel, which meant Herman used to get to stretch his legs, even made a small profit from the fuel money!

I'm going to lose my job.

Fuck.

Fucksticks.

My old man has just lost his gig after 35 years with the same company.  You can't buy loyalty like that, but the problem now is he's 58 and the last time he went to a job interview was before I was born.  I worry for him.

If I can do owt, just shout.  Happy to organise a little benevolence fund to get you and the family through Christmas.  Perhaps a raffle with some proceeds going your way.  I'm up for it if we can get some interest.

That sucks JM, what was your profession?

Seems a bit of a shitty trick to do it just before xmas though.

X1/9 passed the mot today with no advisories. 2035miles since the last one. Now booked in for an oil 'n filter change at all Italia in Wrexham. My dad likes taking it there as they have a yard full of alfas and maseratis ( one has his initials on the number plate too).

My sister's scenic wasn't so accommodating and cost £700 odd for tyres, ball joint, track rod end, window motor etc. They are now thinking of swapping for something else ( it's a 56reg on 100k). I have tried sensible suggestions like a skoda octavia estate, but they are thinking of things like a Nissan cashcow. Thoughts on these?

Best of luck on the job hunting front JM.

I got made redundant last year and was really shitting myself after 10 years of the same thing, but it was the best thing that could have happened to me.
