anonymous user Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Mr Beard was going to ask the transport guy for some help 'moving the Olds onto the drive'. Ar galite man padėti stumti automobilį ant disko prašome I took this to be a euphemism for some 'hot Lithuanian disco action with post event biscuits'. I may have mistyped the Google translation outcome somewhat. would those be disco biscuits? purplebargeken and Bobthebeard 2
purplebargeken Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Even more reason to sell the Olds back to me when you get: bored/divorced/beaten with a rolling pin/it sorted.
Six-cylinder Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Unusual colour. Did it rot away? I had it about two months and decided I didn't need it so advertised it in my local Tescos. It was sold to a New Zealand man who was touring the UK. I seem to remember I came out with a small profit.
Bobthebeard Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Even more reason to sell the Olds back to me when you get: bored/divorced/beaten with a rolling pin/it sorted.Lol. Am more than happy to sell it back to you! Reasons above all probable. Given my form at buying and selling cars you will get it back all shiny and repaired for £fuck all.
purplebargeken Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I should have just asked you to do it for me shouldn't I.
Bobthebeard Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I should have just asked you to do it for me shouldn't I. Yes... Still a possibility..
Slappy Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Fiesta has blown a headlight, annoying. The clutch however has stopped* being heavy and clicky and has therefore fixed* itself. Booked in for a service on Weds. Hopefully that'll get to the bottom of the problem.
brownnova Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I've just lost the game, or should that be won...? Let me explain: An idle evenings browsing of the 'bay found me plenty of chod to post on the eBay bargains thread (a beautiful SM, and a beautifully coloured beige/cream Merc 190) Fewer people will have probably noticed the Mitsubishi I posted somewhere in the middle. If you missed it here it is: I jovially quipped that I would bid on it... So as per the rules of the game (my own personal rules include a complex level of want to bid to distance ratio) I plucked a suitably derisory sum out of the air, and placed the bid. Fully expecting to be outbid. Come Sunday afternoon the eBay app pinged to say the Colt was ending soon. "I wonder how much that's gone up to now" thought I, only to have the realisation I was still the high bidder.... That evening, I lost (or won) the game and found myself the auction winner for one White 1992 Colt. Bugger. So what's the deal? Well according to the advert it's a one owner, 35k car (the 'modern' has 33k and is 2 years old!). MOT history shows a very good rate of passes (and backs the mileage up), and it comes with ticket 'til May. And in another bonus the winning bid was in fact only just over half of the monthly finance on the modern motor in which I commute! WCPGW?!?!?!?!?The only visible downside is a dent in the rear quarter. Its 98 miles from me (Hereford not an ideal location tbh), In theory could be used to let SWMBO practice as she learns to drive... Can't say that I really want it but being 'that' eBay twat just doesn't come naturally to me! Jim Bell, vulgalour, CGSB and 10 others 13

Christine Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Octavia failed it's MOT on rear seat belt mechanism. D'oh! Fit a baby seat and represent , it'll then be just an advisory ...fact. JohnK 1
dollywobbler Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 As if my week wasn't already busy enough, it seems I've got Collection Capers ahead. A Volvo. That hasn't been on the road since March. And which currently has a flat battery and therefore isn't running. Oh, and it's 200 miles away. And the SVM are going to hate me. Hopefully, the caper gets underway on Friday. The Nippa is involved with the first stage. This promises to be interesting. Lacquer Peel, Alexg, Craig the Princess and 5 others 8

purplebargeken Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 The Olds has now rewarded its new owner by FTP. It may be haunted. The only way to resolve this is to fix it all up and return it to me as soon as possible. It really is the only way. You know this. Right? Bobthebeard 1

Lacquer Peel Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Front-wheel drive, pop-up headlights? RENAULT engines? PROPER!? I'm just fishing.
Ghosty Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 '92 is bloody early for one of those, and the Mitsi ones are pretty uncommon now compared to Proton Satrias. Cavcraft 1
Ghosty Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 False Volvo? I'd have read that as removing a Volvo from its natural habitat. anonymous user and Lacquer Peel 2

dollywobbler Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Garycoxs 480 then. Well plaid. That was a vague plan at one stage, but that car remains available. There's a limit to how many Volvos I can acquire in one week.

Alexg Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 You told the Missus? Mrs G won't know until it's too late.
dugong Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 MGF doesn't appear to be as bad as I thought. There's definitely a leak (it's lost coolant somewhere), but after topping the bottle up, checking the levels and running it, it doesn't overheat. There's no steam, the OAT doesn't pressurise and there's no loss of power. Gauge flaps around like a mad thing, though, probably a shagged sensor. I think the last return pipe blow-up might have damaged it. Drove the car at motorway speeds and put a ton of load on it - and it behaved. One of the aux belts is shrieking its tits off and is in dire need of replacement. Getting a specialist to pick the car up for me - I'm actually more worried about the belt snapping than it impersonating a kettle.
dome Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Went out to jack up the Scimitar tonight to make a start on fitting the new electric fuel pump-this one goes near the tank instead of under the bonnet so a bit of work required. Was only going to jack it up and have a look as I'm off on Friday but I got cracked on and it's now fitted and plumbed in, just needs wired up and it'll be good to go.
