I've just been bouncing around some hilltops in SW France, getting a tour of the various tiny vineyards the host of our gite owns, in her 4wd Fiat.IMG_20230517_113929.thumb.jpg.776fb99588f73770962a13615ab7dce0.jpg

They would like to replace it, but you can only get them in Mexico now.

205 did An Leak, just as I was about to head home from work.

Filled the expansion tank to the brim and it got me home. Lower rad hose has chafed away on the body.

Despite having 8 motors there's nothing left for me to take to work as everything is in some form of brokenness.

So here's the Peugeot Replacement Service borrowed from Mrs.

Would that share the running gear with the Fiat Sedici (Suzuki SX4) ? I rather like the look of it.

That looks great tbh! Does it have 4 seats? Or even just 3... 😂

Oil for a good price on offer that'll be good for a lot of modern cars.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303081769191

Or slightly more for low SAPs and a DPF equipped diesel.

Thanks, I normally stock up when it's around that price but I've checked and I still have three of the four I bought last time! I've done well with that stuff over the years

Having looked at the relevant wiki page, I'm not sure if it is 4x4. The engine is a 1.3 Multijet.

Amongst the haul of parts I got yesterday I discovered this. An original East German wiper blade rubber replacement. Very cool to see the original packaging has survived

The ol' banger is back. Just slightly less banging.

It still has the initial blow in the flexi exhaust that sounds a bit like a top end tap, but far quieter than it was before the speed bump incident. Panhard65 did see about replacing that downpipe with the flexi on but I said not to bother as you can't really hear it with the windows up and I've spent far too much this month! It's also had enough spent on it recently and if I had it done, it'll only go shit its clutch, turbo or something like that next month knowing my luck. Got to pick and choose your battles with these old German cars.

Tbh I'm most excited about having the air conditioning regassed! 460grams out and 750grams back in, so needed a fair bit. It's really quite chilly now. Also means even less reason to have the windows open and hear any exhaust noise.

Edit: Just realised it's been 6 months yesterday since I've bought it. Done about 2.8k miles in it which isn't too bad for a runaround with me.

FFS. Bunch of arseholes!
(The front scratch, the rear was already there)

Why did the builders put a stupid pillar in the most awkward place on our driveway? It was an inevitable eventuality I was going to hit it.

I'm annoyed but out of all the cars, at least I did it to the TT. It's already marked & dented from the train station and will get more.

Treated myself to a new angle grinder.  One of these:

s-l1600.jpg

It's better than my old grinder in two main ways - it has a trigger like a drill rather than an on/off switch on the top, and it has variable speed rather than always running at 50 million rpm.  Also the handle is a bit different on the one I've bought, it has storage in it for the spanner thingy, which is useful as I'm always losing those bastard things.

Bloke on eBay was knocking them out for £17.99 delivered, which I thought was a bit of a bargain - others obviously thought so too as he sold out within hours!  Looking forward to attacking the Renault 6 with it at the weekend.

Trying to sell my Triumph 1500TC again this Summer. Had previously pushed it to the back of the garage which meant the space in front inevitably started to fill up with crap.

Got a flat tyre blown up, cleared a path to the door and pushed to a more accessable position.

Had a Google - there's a fair old pile of similar mini-pickups available Mexico and southwards - kind of like the one Skoda did here (Californian??) and some with little suicide doors like the 4 crew cab Isuzus - I guess UK/EU market has low demand or are we so rich that we just want to have the BIG ones?

Finally fitted the passenger monza recaro to the manta. Then went for a quick drive to the end of the farm track and back.

Never move house. We did. We've got too much stuff and nowhere to put it. Surrounded by bloody boxes, having spent days decorating now got to do curtains and all that shit. Absolutely fed up to the back teeth with it all.

When we've finished, we've got a big garden which needs loads doing to it, and I hate gardening. Also the garage and driveway are too small.

I don't really know why I agreed to buy it.

Is that last pic how soft it is or how deep the filler is?

Gulp! :-(

Not as bad as it looks, just someone has filled a tacked on plate over with an inch of filler instead of just knocking it out from the inside.
