Anyone want to have a go at guessing the car/engine? 

Photo cropped as it would give it away from the shape of the coolant bottle. Might still do for some, but meh. 

And no, it's not a Rover nora K-Series to address any suspected irony from above posts...!

I've had 3 of them, all diesels and the noise is starting to annoy me. Someone I subscribe to on You Tube had just bought a V6 model and it sounds glorious. The way a 75 really should be. I have always felt that the diesel was only offered as an option because they kind of had to, to widen the appeal*.

I have also concluded that I prefer the looks of the MK1, obviously it's true to Richard Wooley's original sketches.

There is 0% chance I'm moving away from 75s, but I'm going to scout around for a V6 Connoisseur MK1 before reasonably sorted ones aren't £1500 any more. 

In the meantime I'll keep this one though, a remapped auto is probably the best setup for diesel.

The 2.5v6 is one of the most beautiful sounding six cylinder engines I’ve enjoyed. It’s not hyped, not exaggerated, but pure sonic excellence. It’ll also do 30 odd to the gallon and whilst Petrol is cheaper, there’s no reason not to.

On the subject of Rover 75s, I drove mine to the office today.  It's the last ever day in this office and it's also the fourth anniversary of me buying the car.  It's quite unusual for me to keep a "modern" daily for that long, but I do love the old crate, even with the various niggles it's had (and continues to have).  It's only ever FTP'd once in the time I've had it, and that was my fault for jet washing the ECU.

I had one in a silver ZT 190+ saloon - it sounded brilliant and went pretty well too. 75/ZTs are very underrated cars.

I had a 2.5 V6 auto saloon but it was a Club SE rather than a posh one.  It was very pleasant though, plenty of poke and acceptable fuel economy.

Yes for reference that is another pot hole next to a repair which they’ve obviously deemed not deep enough to fill… there are many more like it. Utter crap.

Just been out for a quick drive in the x1/9 to check the new rubber. Seems fine, good grip in the dry and overtook a dawdling Porsche that pulled out of the grosvenor ( ex lion) in lavister and weaved about the road at 30mph ( drunk I assume ). £210 well spent on the Toyos I think.

Missus sister calls saying she has a flat tyre.. she not practical minded, missus says she would go and help her... ¹1 she trys to pump it up and checks for leaks... and that's when cut her hands on the exposed cords, so missus calls me and I talk her through it..

Missus comes home and I said what bout the other side... turns out it's exactly the same.. and yesterday she been up and down the motorway with her 2 daughters..

So in the last two days I had a “self levelling suspension fault” flash up on the E61. Sone research showed I’ve got rear air bags…fuck sake. It went away but then earlier today I noticed the OSR sagging but when I returned it had sorted itself. I was due to see family today so packed stuff in the boot and then popping out to the shop I hear the compressor going off and refusing to turn off. Turns out if a bag is leaking it’ll carry on running until it dies.

I managed to find the fuse for it and pull it so no dead battery. I will be replacing it for a shocks/springs conversion kit on the rear instead, fuck am I messing around doing air bags and stuff.

Air bags are nothing to be concerned about…every bus and coach on the road are running them and doing mega mileage. I’d think twice about changing to standard springs. Once replaced, it’ll be fine for many years to come.

It'll burn the compressor out if it doesn't drain the battery first, I've seen it before!

I did think that but apparently, it’s a common conversion on the E61 tourers to do. It’s just the cost I suppose but I’ll have to either get it looked at first before I decide which path to go down. Too many variables for me with the compressor and the shitty pipe that BMW made for it too.

EDIT: I should do better research. Bags are not expensive and appears easily doable myself. @NorthernMonkeymate I probably will just replace the bags then! Not as upset now 😂

Yup hence why I frantically emptied the boot and pulled the fuse before it had chance to go bonkers.

Yes. 
I was switching the wheels for transport purposes, as I fetched them my dad went to jack the car up on the front jacking point. 
It slipped off the jack, displaced some cornflakes, and somehow popped the bonnet open. 

The bonnet didn't close flush after that, but everything was still in place. 

Something structural must have bent, that shell was toast. I'm glad I'm out of it with as much as I am.

No outer sills, no floorpans - seatbelts weren't attached to anything, chassis rails lost integrity and bent when lowered onto an axle stand, no rear arches, tailgate was rotten, driver's door rotting from the inside, likely no inner sills, sunroof had rotted from the inside out, passenger door didn't lock/unlock on the key and the window didn't work, interior trim bits missing/damaged, filler and high build primer everywhere, dead distributor, seller stole a steering wheel from me, missing screws/clips everywhere...

I can't really take piss though as I've just bought this honey, when was the last time you saw a phase 1 Citroen ax gt? Deffo a 20 footer, she ain't pretty and it stinks inside.
