When are you moving down here ?

I am super Stressy McStressypants at the moment, I don't feel like I've had much opportunity to unstress since last December.  However, I've been channeling my stress into mission Get Shit Done, and it's working.  I've been desperately plugging away at Princess and Rover to get all the things done that I need Mike's help, experience, tools, and space with.  Once I move it'll be a lot harder to do certain jobs as I'll be back to working outdoors and axle stands, at least for a while.  Current status is thus:

Rover

Replace rear suspension bushes - not vital, but loads easier while I still have access to a press and a lift

Fit door cards

MoT

Strip trim, seals, and glass off spare set of doors

Princess

Weld in new light buckets

Wire up new lights (a Mike job)

Remove rear screen to repair surround (it's been waiting 6 years for me to do this)

Fit new windscreen seal

Fit new windscreen and rear screen stainless over-trims

I feel like I'm winning.  It is a strange feeling.  I'm fucking exhausted mind.

Off to Paris for nine days to stay with my girlfriend. One of the advantages of a long distance relationship is every time we see each other it's a holiday....plus a roadtrip lol

Christine:  we're waiting on final Stuff to be sorted with the house purchase, once that's sorted and hopefully all is well, end of October seems likely.

20quid grinder. I wonder how long this will last?

Looks very similar to my own £20 grinder, although a different brand.

Mine seems to be holding out fairly well, although I did have to dismantle it and re-join/re-route/tape up some of the internal wiring to actually get it to work in the first place...

Once that's sorted I'll probably sell it, as my Dad no longer needs a second car (he's had it for the last 3 years as a runabout) and nice though it is I think I'm done with it.  I paid £650 for it four years ago and they still seem to be worth nowt.

This is an auto isn't it?

Oh dear.

I for one would love to see a red squirrel, I blooming love squirrels, where in the country are you

We have reds out here, and black squirrels pop up quite regularly

Pine Martins, pretty much the whole Weasel group and small Ground Hogs too

We had to swerve around a decent sized snake that was sunbathing on a road yesterday, well, didn't Have to but there you go...

The wife has seen wild tortoises before now but by the time she turned the car around it had legged it.

Another 220 miles clocked in France and arrived at girlfriends just as she was getting up. It's a long way when your avoiding the toll roads. Next time I'll just pay them!

Yes, but it's not as tidy as yours. Paintwork is flat and arches and sill ends are a bit grotty. The Prussian Blue interior is rather lovely though.

First time I have seen with my own eyes a bus sucking electricity out of the road.

I now have a mental image of Beko placing his phone on that charging pad, then the phone promptly exploding.

I had a Banner battery which spaffed acid everywhere once in a very hot workshop.

A Ni-Cd battery pack on one of my Tamiyas did something similar, too. 'Smart' charger, my arse.

It looks like I need to make a trip up to Motherwell soon, it's been a while since I did a collection thread.

Brilliant for Dean. She, on the other hand, gets a holiday in Coventry. ;-)

No trouble there tbh, at the end of the day its a GTI auto, they're a rare beast. My paint was flat as a pancake until I wet sanded it as well!

If you were selling I'd definitely be interested.

Viewpark actually.

You'll need at least a couple of bottles of Buckfast to get in. Buy them before crossing the border.

Formby , but get there very early for a NT parking space as it fills up quickly in the weekend , otherwise pop up one evening when everyone else has gone home , the parking is free after 6pm , and the squirrels are still about , they dont hibernate so they can be seen when its colder

Does anyone fancy a Hyundai Pony?

I was contacted today by the owner's granddaughter who I went to school with, anyway her grandad has given up driving and wishes to sell his Pony. He hasn't any idea what it's worth but I've said not a lot without any MoT, it's a 1.3 with around 100k on the clock.

I would imagine about £250 would secure it, he's keen for it to go to a good home.

Park by the field one Larkhill lane and walk into the woods. Saves you a few quid and an hour queue. Approach from The South and avoid Victoria Road.

For those local shitters tomorrow evening is our East Coast Retros meet again, I'm collecting for St. Elizabeth Hospice this month as it's a year since Oldford died and they cared for him in his final days, last year I raised £710 for Macmillan and hope to better that tomorrow.

Can you fit a Pony into your horsebox?

I got rid of it, the carb was knackered and I called time on it! Bought by a banger racer.
