Sod lanzerote, our back garden has been perfectly warm, accidentally drunk 7 cans of ale this afternoon, whoops

Today I have been mainly reliving my youth by burning the underside of my legs on vinyl seats. The difference this time was I was in the driving seat, and I passed on the experience to my daughters.

Oh that's a terrible accident, I hope you had a pint to steady your nerves after it happened?

I got the engine back in the mini, took it for its first proper drive in my ownership, what an absolute riot the little thing is :)post-177-0-64020000-1525711371_thumb.jpg

I certainly have! Seemed rude to leave 3 on their own in the fridge. Amy came back after a weekend at her dad's and got the wine out so I joined her

Mrs CW did visit her sister yesterday. This means she had to drive past Tebay #2 (south Gloucester services on the M5). And this means there is pie for tea...

That doesn't look like any services pie I've ever seen.

Have been away for the weekend, which was nice. Family gathering etc. It's my 40th on 22nd, but also my sister's 30th in July, my Aunt's 70th later this month and had just been my uncle's 80th.

The trip did include saying goodbye to this.

But, I saw this.

One of my presents was this:

Then we drove home. Very hot, so off with the shoes!

Cue some major upset on Twitter, with folk asserting that it's illegal/dangerous/KITTEN DEATH to drive barefoot. I can only assume that poor Barefoot has to deal with this on a regular basis.

Ignored them and went for a drive in the 2CV to collect the cat.

It's astonishing how the Michelins have transformed the ride of the 2CV. It's so smooth now, albeit the soft sidewall of the Michelins means it isn't quite so sharp in the handling department.

I know. I'm amazed there IS an award for best motorway service area, it's such a given that it'll go to Tebay. Well, until they created a bit of competition.

Sounds like you need a trip up the m6..

I try to avoid motorways, but I'll try to remember that one services in the country actually sells actual food.

Ghosty - with the rotor arm I assume you undid the screw that holds it on ?

The have another branch these days, down the southwest somewhere.

(Now sees chodweaver's mention of Tebay #2)

Us southerners are planning/hoping to pop into tebay on the way to and from shitefest to sample its delights!

Noticed something today

New V5c log books no longer contain previous keeper details.

Just some shizzle about data protection.ff8afbe14b23fef6fb3dd1bd1010be9a.jpg

Yup, because of GDPR

DVLA will still happily sell on your data to car park shysters and any old Tom, Dick or Harry that'll pay for it, though. Natch!

Not anymore they won't.

Weren't you two supposed to be seperating? Don't do anything foolish...

The owner of the Vauxhall came ound today and brought the various bits of broken plastic that should cover the mirrors. I spent a happy 10 minutes glueing the bits back together and then thought I'd see how they actually fit to the car. The aswer is: Bloody easily! I was only going to look, but they clipped on with so little effort I'd done them both in the time it took Chester to pee on the drivers side wheels.

To say I have many and varied watches, assessing time passage by 'dog pissing length' is a new one, even for me!  :)

Oh yes and in 'dollop' news, there isn't any! But I asked on the Ozzie forum and apparently, fuel injection prolems can do what the old heap is doing - either accumulator or something else (I've forgotten already!) can cause this problem. I like the sound of this as it will be rather a lot cheaper than what my mind is currently seeing as the probable cause (broken something, obviously expensive!).

That's handy. It hides the fact the previous owner of my TT only had it 3 months. Makes it a bit less weird that I've only owned it for a month too.

I might loose* my current one.

I'm glad to hear the brokage isn't as much brokage as you first feared.

So does this mean the DVLA need to write to everyone now telling them that someone somewhere might have a bit of paper with their name and address on it saying that they once owned a shonky old Allegro?

God, I'll be getting hundreds of fugging letters if thats the case.

Possibly....

In other news: I stayed up all night watching 'Tabula Rasa' on 'All four'  and it was effin' good, possibly even great! More twists and trns than the Graveley interchange and several plot twists that I really did not see coming.  I thought it didn't matter as the dogs do not like the heat and everywhere is really busy here on a bank holiday, so staying up until 9:30 A.M. wasn't a problem. I took the dogs out at 8:00 A.M. and then watched the last episode then went to sleep! Woke up when Colin came round (Vauxhall owner) and then had a shower and took the dogs to the beach - I thought it would be quiet by 4:30 ish... I was wrong! Still packed but quietened down by 5:30 and Phoebe had a good swim around while Chester had a wonderful time annoying other dogs... of course he fel in love with a 'Chug' so had to be put back on his lead so they could leave the beach without a fat Basset going with them!

Went to Japfest Silverstone in my Impreza.

Have some pointlessly pretty pictures that do and explain little:

I've come the conclusion that I'll never be able to afford a Mazda RX-7 FD; furthermore, that last image isn't of a Lexus, million mile example or otherwise.

As the camera I gave back to work got lost or eaten or something, I had to fall back on back on my fall back (so I got into camouflage).
With cameras, it was my ambition to have ambition, so I decided to charge up the allegedly broken Sony Alpha 390 I was given in a box, cleaned the sensor up to stop it displaying a lens error, fitted an old M42 135mm lens given to me by Pete-M (with an adaptor), and snapped away until it overheated in the tandoori oven heat of Silverstone.

It was nice to catch up with Hirst, bathe in the stench of weed and turquoise hair dye - and marvel at the Blues Brothers number of cops lining the A43.
My Impreza still works, and I saw Partridge on the way home, too.

DUPLICATE DOCUMENT

always HPI it that little bit harder if you spot that

Ok, the DVLA won't hand over PO details to enthusiasts tracing the history of their car, but they're more than happy to pass on information to cowboy parking firms if they pay. This really annoys me - they can't have it both ways.
