Hopefully the Rolls will be off to a new owner pretty soon as I have bought another hopeless basket case thanks to the ebay tat thread. I only want it for the wheels really and will break the rest unless anyone wants a rusty accident damaged 304 with no wheels..

There won't be much of a collection thread as it will be hire a trailer and go to Wales to drag it home. I might have to get it running though before breaking it.

Last night I was looking up "name" number plates on Totalcarcheck - was surprised to find that DAV1D isn't currently on a vehicle, so I tried various other names and the first one which actually came up with a result was COL1N, which is a 2012 RR Phantom.

Guess what I passed on the way home from work this evening?

DAV7D ?

I had two job interviews today and travelled about 100 miles and got offered both jobs..

And the icing on the cake was that I took the Z3 and had an amazing drive with the roof down and the car is such a nippy little thing and really does glue to the road.post-9282-0-21124800-1491936801_thumb.jpeg

And because I've got a job now I can keep it 😀

Ha! Ace. That did crop up on my Ebay feed, but far too hopeless, even by my standards. Poor thing.

Yeah it is too hopeless to restore so it will quickly be put out of it's misery to help others live on. There is a project 304 cabby in London that I might go after if there are enough decent bits on this saloon.

I've been spending a little time helping a friend kick this old lump back into life. It's a 1974 John Deere 3130 and my main task is wiring it so it will run to check it, then more permanently later. It bellowed in life yesterday and ran happily for about 20 mins. The owner likes working on houses and has been on my roof and down my drains so it's a fair swap for me! :-D

Car shuffling part of the fleet. I really need to polish that back door on the 2cv too. Drove up to Wrexham in the 2cv Friday and will go back home in the fiat on Tuesday. I've just driven it out for a quick blast to the petrol station to top up with shell's vpower. Guy filling up his modern next to me wanted a chat- he finished restoring a jenson last year and has just bought an Austin 1800.

Spent a morning getting the Trafic ready for the Bulgarian registration process

The rules around this vary from one region to another but our local Kat office seems fairly simple, only needing beam deflectors fitting to the headlamps

As we're here for the long term I'd bought some new lhd headlamps to fit

Std front end looking a bit tired

Putting the 2 side by side shows just how faded the originals are

Not much to tbh, swap the height adjustment motors over and that was that

Swapped the Phillips over gave the new lamps a blueish tinge

The old Trafic lights went onto the Vivaro, replacing the cracked and badly glued originals that went on the bin....

Just need to find and clean up the engine number on the block and it's ready to go!

This afternoon i went to take a proper look at the Ital I've been offered...

Its quite rusty so I'm trying to decide if its worth me taking on, bearing in mind that i can't weld... The front wing and inner wing is the worse bit really and will need replacing.

The other side inner is a little better but still needs a patch.

The engine looks a little rusty but after fitting a new battery, cleaning the points and some fresh fuel straight in the carb it tried to fire up! Sadly the choke was jammed and the float needle stuck so it pissed fuel out bit but considering it hasn't been started for about 17 years it run well!

The offside sill will need replacing.

And the nearside not great.

It's very clean under the arches but still need attention.

The floor needs a patch both sides at the front

But its not awful.

It comes with a new exhaust.

d5124da1a7920e9f28fb9b54dda71129.jpg

41000 miles from new. No ones sat in it for 17 years so it was a bit cobwebby.

62fbbe844ac216e4a2b699aaf895acd2.jpg

I cleaned the back out back in 1994 when i was 14, it felt strange seeing everyone still in it which i put there.

So thats it... Its a lot of work for something which i don't really need but i still feel its worth it. £650 was spoke about...

Is he paying you the £650 to take it away?

Said goodbye to the donor panda:

post-17396-0-69046200-1492293255_thumb.jpg

Put some 15" Lancia alloys on the 4x4 as the tyres did some smoking whilst pulling the donor onto the trailer.

These were originally on the "show" panda but ended up rubbing on the arches with any weight in the rear.

As the 4x4 is lifted over standard height and has hand built rock slider sills there's a lot more clearance over standard for the bigger wheels - they still look lost in the arches though.

Performance wise the slightly wider tyre grips better and has less bounce with the lower profile although compared side by side the 14's are taller overall to the 15's.

Took it for an evening spin on the M62 and found motorway speeds are much more comfortable, limited only by the racket the roof rack mounted lights cause. In fact I upset a Golf driver at a set of lights and gave very little ground up to an indicated 90mph - I forgot to take the satnav to check the speedo accuracy - certainly that's the furthest the needle has ever travelled.

I've not seen a X1/9 for years & that looks mint.

650 sounds a good price for that van, but it will be hard to sort those inner wings without removing the outers, which are rare and very expensive now!!! Also be prepared to be disappointed with the driving experience - these are wank. Be worth looking to see if it has telescopics on the front as they are a bit less wank admittedly. Plus the teles and brackets are worth ludicrous sums on their own.

∆∆ I beg to differ, these are a delight to drive. Copulation can easily be accomplished in the rear, that's it, the Marina's climax.

I had a quick look and they had grease nipples at the top, would that be trunnions still?. Wings seem to be about £150 but not all that easy to find now. The offside is saveable but the nearside is full of plod and dents and will defiantly need to come off.

That needs loads of work Trig . I'd say that price is a bit steep for so much of a project personally .
