Another cheap part turned up for the BX I dragged home the other weekend.

Of course this meant I had to immediately fit both bits together for no reason.

That’s everything I need to sort the exhaust then, minus clamps and rubbers which I can grab at the local motor factor.

The only thing holding me up now is that yesterday I found out that I have covid so I’ve got to sit around at home for a bit until I’m allowed to play outside again.

Just got the rear glass tinted on the Sierra.

Next job is to remove the deck and figure out how to fit out the rear.

Just being able to chuck boxes this size in the back without a second thought, dropping seats or anything definitely hasn't got old yet.

I saw this picture earlier. That's a new one on me I can't imagine that's the best way to transport a car unless there's no fluids in them.

No photo description available.

They did exactly that. Those are all brand new cars out the factory. Can't remember which yank car but I'm sure others will know off the top of their heads.

I’m sat in the interior of my 2004 xj8 and I’ve got to say it’s a lovely place to sit.

(typed whilst waiting for a takeaway pizza- that was never in a brochure pic. How the mighty have fallen)

Chevrolet Vega.

I remember seeing an article about that mode of transport for them a few years ago.

No. I don't retain any useful information.

I seem to recall all of the fluid reservoirs were designed with being held at 90° in mind.

A really badly taken photo.  The shutter speed is too slow, the white balance is off and the angle suggests it was taken in a hurry.

Also looks like a TVR being loaded by a JCB loadall into a curtainsider, while someone objects..

It's done a lot of miles, but it's the relatively bulletproof 8-valve 1.9 JTD and it runs and drives fine.  It's massive in the back too, and it has a towbar, plus it should be fairly good on fuel if the similarly-engined Stilo I once owned is anything to go by.  I don't have any particular need for it, but a mate's brother in law was selling it at a price I couldn't refuse, and I've wanted to try one ever since I had a dream one night years ago that I'd bought a brand new one (although that was a boggo non-turbo 1.9D panel van in appliance white with keep fit windows).  Yes, I do know I'm odd.

That’s ace! I’m really tempted by these. Like an uglier and therefore more suitable berlingo

I think it's one of those tried-to-revive-brands that never quite made it. I saw one in Germany once, also being transported on a truck.

You've won at life. Turbocharged Italian missile.

Knicker elastic is snapping as I type.

(Genuinely useful thing though, I'd love one)

Not a clue to be honest. Even google hasn't helped me, nothing seems to line up quite right, so maybe something else?

Yes, they were.

It was only when placed at 0° that Chevy Vegas used to leak fluids.

This thing's on its way down to me overnight. Strictly it's my mum's but I get to use it. 1.6 auto.

I had a 08 1.3 diesel for work for 3 years. Great space and pretty reliable, but not as economical as hope, around 42mpg. It wouldn't be a surprise if a 1.9 was about the same economy or even a bit better. Does it have a dpf? That was the only aspect of mine that had to be treated carefully, as it was rather too far downstream from the engine and sometimes didn't want to do a regen.

No DPF on this bad boy.  From what I gather, in this application the 1.9 JTD is more economical than the 1.3 - the 1.3 has to work hard to haul something the size of a Doblo, which isn't good for fuel consumption.  I've found over the years that the small engine / large car combo rarely gives anything other than disappointing results.

The trip computer is actually showing 51.5mpg average, but obviously being Italian I'm not necessarily going to take that at face value.

Yep no DPF, my 57 plate one (same colour as yours too) thankfully doesn't have one. As for the trip computer it's fairly comedy - only way to get a real mpg figure is manually (you know - brim, drive, brim then maths). For a giggle set the trip to "live mpg" and truly believe you are doing 99.9 mpg.

The only real issue I've had with mine was it went into limp mode when the egr valve stuck but even that was my fault as I was driving it too gently and the egr was always in recirculate mode. Every week or 2 I now get the turbo up to the limiter and give the egr a good clear out.

I've had mine 11 years now and I still love it, the load space is phenomenal. I've had all sorts in it to the detriment of the interior. Overall it's a brilliant vehicle. Enjoy yours!

Went to view a car last night on the way home from work, was looking at the service history when in noticed that a previous owner had lived in my home town of Stratford Upon Avon (which considering the car was 4 miles from me now in North Wales was a surprise).

Then I looked closer… and realised that the car actually lived on the same street where I grew up and my parents still live to this day!

No, it's not great. Mine always showed over 50 but I always got 42.

While I was eating breakfast I looked at this one and I know there are several train enthusiasts here who will find this interesting. And is a good comment in the comment field below from a Bosian who explains a little more.

Since there is not much interest in my vehicle thread, I share this here as well. I changed the brakes on the right side rear the Vivaro today and when I took off the wheel I was met by this a brake pad lying by the spring.

20220310_103341.thumb.jpg.69714c0adfbf42696bb33c5644958b75.jpg

The brake pad is very rusty so it has been there for a while. And when I took off the brake caliper things got even worse.

20220310_104313.thumb.jpg.a73eabe5ef131e6cc2d5b55105c2de1a.jpg

20220310_104323.thumb.jpg.e278d35f3c09d664aa07e056018aa96c.jpg

And he who performed the inspection (MOT) has not noticed this something I struggle to believe is possible. And what do you think the brake pad may have droped out itself and ended up there or did someone take it out and put it next to the spring?

With this and that one of the brake calipers in front has started to leak (picture below) this was a death trap.

boot full of spares (Gates timing belt kit, exhaust centre and rear, all the exhaust fittings, repair panel for the rusty section of outer skin) and various other goodies. It's straight, tidy and runs well.

Pleasantly surprised to find it has a CD changer too!

£300. Mental innit?

The tyres are borderline so it's getting my VTi wheels:
