It probably needs a little more air.

Was a fun* job, certainly needed 2 people. Was nice to just chat and tinker, it even only rained right as we were bolting back up and packing up (he still needs track rod ends so we just sat it  back on its wheels)

Looks like I have a collection mission on Monday ? has anyone any experience of using the DVLA phone service to tax a car? My phone isn't internety... Normally I wouldn't worry too much but it's 160 miles with lots of motorway so would rather I was covered.

You won't get through to them on Monday as its a Bank Holiday, they are generally OK if they answer the phone.

Its a Focus ST then?

We have a winner.

After the eBay one in Sheffield turned into a PITA with the seller not answering his phone despite the sale being agreed, attention turned to alternatives. One in Clacton looked promising, but upon ringing the seller, the "vibe" wasn't right. Onto Autotrader, rang, arranged viewing.

Pretty uneventful, Team Fat n Blind, Nev and Nev junior arrived en masse, I perved over the seller's father's TVR 420SEAC whilst the deal was being done. Shite weather and M25 traffic delayed us somewhat on the way home, but yep, Sir Jazoli is correct.

£4600 with some go faster bits. If anyone's interested, I'll poke @Nev every so often to update his thread of his collection(s) to keep an update.

Pez station shot - no Woollarding because of knackered knees.

Went for a walk this morning to check out the damage to Chobham common from its fire a fortnight ago. QVicmemorial survived, and signs of green bracken and grass already.

Galaxy time again. Started with the hatch wiring, it looked awful, what with two broken wires, plenty of frayed and exposed others...

...fixex broken ones, taped over the others for now. One reverse light then worked, the other was a blown bulb.

No such luck with the battered old driver's door wiring. Three (at least) wires have come away from the connector, looks like replacement loom probably easiest fix as broke/knackered one of the door pins. There are pin removal and replacement kits, but not sure if can be arsed. One of the thicker wires has broken, hopefully it's the central locking one and will thus work again when replaced...

Next up, removal of injectors. Number 3 was a bastard, but got it out using mole grips, but carefully and using some encouraging words instead of swearing. Well, possibly some swearing. Or quite a lot of swearing...

...the glug plug relay thing looks a bit wank, plus the leak off pipes have gone to bollocks. Injectors hopefully going for a pro clean and test this week.

Sacked off going on a scooter run due to time involved doing the car, took two of the bikes and one of the scooters out for short local runs instead. The Lambretta decided it CBA ticking over and then stalled, but luckily fired back into life after a few minutes.

Are you local then? Road and parking opened last week after a week. The damage does seem to be confined to a line above the queen vic memorial and Burma road longcross.

The blocks are still there ( as in carpark pic). And it was a tighter squeeze in the merc than expected. But the signs say open. The blocks are there to stop those with transit vans and caravans. I usually park in staple hill ( as in the pics today ) overlooking the m3.

My work is just down the road opposite fairoaks. You’ve probably passed. A friend lives in ashford and his wife works at St. Peter’s.

Ps the a320 outside the ambulance place is often solid, don’t know how you can cope?

I’d recommend autoglym interior cleaner.

Took the 75 to its natural habitat today, a garden centre and then off to my parents for a walk and a roast dinner. I noticed that the NSR wheel had more brake dust in it than I would expect and it was quite warm so that will be another caliper sticking on. All my 75s have done this and I've not long replaced the OSF caliper. The NSF one is also fairly new.

It's going to the Rover specialist in Whitburn in Thursday for some rusty sections of brake line to be replaced so I'll just ask him to grease the slider pins while the car is in the air.

I rarely get stuck as a start at 6p.m. and finish at 6 a.m. so miss most of the traffic

No, it includes cars owed in the past.

The 9000 has eased over 203,000 this weekend  having covered over 1000 miles in the last three weeks...

Its become the family wagon of choice as both Mrs_b and I find the C5 we bought to take the family use strain rather uncomfortable to drive....

Replacement likely to be Swedish methinks...
