Cavcraft Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Spent about a day and a bit cleaning the van. Yesterday used some TFR, then washed it, clay barred, and cleaned it again. Today T-cut, buffer using heavier grade compound, buffer using medium compound, buffer using lightest compound, followed by polish, paint protector and then wax. Sills had a little surface rust, so sprayed them up then got the heat gun and back-to-black on the plastics. Hard to get a decent photograph, but for a 13 odd year old high mileage van, it's surprisingly decent. outlaw118, Aston Martin, Steviemillar and 15 others 18

Thanks, just got one myself, interested to read those reviews if you have a link pls? Aston Martin 1

If you search Google for 'lidl oil pump forum' Loads of things pop-up, some say they're brilliant and some say "it will destroy the engine instantly" 😒 Panda sump plugs are like this, in my head one day the thread will just continue straight inside the sump. Plus I hate using oil pans. I'll be using this in the green Alessi in a few weeks. It could be handy to fill the 4x4 gearbox up to, using it backwards. egg 1
egg Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Yep, I found a thread about using a copper pipe, I'll order one up from AliExpress tonight! Thanks. Aston Martin 1

richardmorris Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Met my sister’s family up in bix north of Henley this afternoon. About 4.30 this plane was doing acrobatics overhead. NB. For those going to Warburg Nature Reserve at bix, the road is appalling - single track with few passing places.

I'm hoping I can connect that to the plastic pipe it comes with. £6, so half as much again as the pump, but if it makes it more reliable, worth a go. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32929937505.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.28074c4d0G63mB 36 minutes ago, stuboy said: safe to order from no card dodgy dealings? Probably. I've ordered 5 or 6 six things with no issues. I've had cards ripped off twice before over the years - not from aliexpress! - (and had to claim back hundreds of pounds both times) so I'm usually not keen to throw my details around, but I'm comfortable using it.

Not sure if it's going to be worth fixing. Ran beautiful then suddenly started belching clouds of smoke. No overheating, water loss or oil mixing. No bubbles in header tank. Going to investigate the breather system first.

yes oui si Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Shite shift last night, shite drive home from Kelso due to campervans, stopped on the way back for a snack, realised that this 306 is pretty damn good. It just goes and goes, doesn't complain, rides great, can haul loads of stuff, sips fuel... egg Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 First full tank on the i10 auto - 41.39 mpg (31 litres for 282 miles). Gives an effective range of 315 miles (35 litre tank). 1995 Mazda 323 auto does about 39-40 in similar conditions. Progress! How does that compare to your MPG in it @purplebargeken? yes oui si 1
