Arsenal, it's finally given up :-(

I should have listened to you, mate!

Oooo is that the one from Facebook? Did you see the guy offering the ministox at £400?

No it's been parked at the the yard for ages.

Was in the pub with the owner of the yard last night and asked him about the Toyota there as it's in my way and ended up owning both.

Morning, currently in the room of doom ..

They have upgraded* the seating.

Burds Clio is in for an MOT - I reckon at least 100% of fail. Just be good to know what it needs.

Agh 6 days into Volvo ownership and an EML light has come on. It doesn't seem to drive any differently though....anyone with a V70 TDI experienced this before?

As expected, a fail. Rear caliper not doing owt, disks minging, a rear shock and a binding front brake.

Nothing major.

Now to break the news to the Burd..

Now that's one way to offer heated leather seats.

Re the joy of buying car glass from the other side of the world my son needed a rear door glass for his Toyota Cresta after some low life scum decided to help himself to the 19 inch alloys he had foolishly left on display on the back seat.

Japan was the only country able to supply a replacement and it duly took an extremely slow boat six weeks to arrive in Blighty.

It did come well packaged though.

He wouldn't tell me exactly how much it cost to ship the glass but said it was around £200 ish.

Wind has seen off another section of the back garden fence, currently repaired* by resting two wheelie bins against the section which blew over. Just have to hope it isn't windy on bin collection day until I can sort it out.

A generic OBD 2 reader should tell you what's flagging it.

Went to look at this 250 today.

It’s not mint, useable. One thing was the oil pressure seemed quiet low from cold.

Anybody with any experience of the v8’s know if it’s okay or not?

She did smoke a bit on idle.

I like it but there a few jobs to do and it will never be perfect but I could bomb about in it with no worries.

This is a funny looking m5. Looks nice though, I imagine these can be a real pudding fest body work wise.

Not too bad all things considered.

That does look low. Does the gauge come up with revs? Gauges aren't always trustworthy, but on the other hand, engines are expensive to rebuild...

Posted

The Daimler V8 oil pressure is meant to be 20psi at (hot) idle and around 40psi when driving.

So under 20psi from cold is a bit on the low side - but is the gauge telling the truth ?

Got one of these bad boys today - will probably only ever get used to resurrect the 214 every few weeks when I lose interest, but none too shabby for £26

As predicted, 214 flat as a pancake.

Connected up this lifesaver, whacked the boost button - started first time.

I iz impressed,

Any pics of the chunderbird next to it?

Is that one of those bizzaro Thunderbirds next to that Daimler?  You know, the retro revival thing that was supposed to appeal to... old people?  Who knows.

EDIT: Steve playing the What's In The Background game at the same time as me!

I'll give that a whirl.

In other news, drove the Rover 800 to my other halfs parents today as I gifted it to her dad. It drove really well there, so it's a bit of a sad goodbye.

Would I be mad to shift a V70 diesel for an L series 600 or VM powered 800? I feel like that's going to happen now....

Wee result then!
