Nice! Can't wait to see this, and you've already got the price right!

I pass the Jago place on the A27 regularly. You can see the yellow Jago developments signs from the A27 eastbound pretty much right on the Bognor roundabout, next to the footbridge over the A27.

couple of hundred quids worth of 1600 X-flow , axle and gearbox.

Er....

A running 1600 X Flow 711M is £500 plus. Probably rather more. 1600 box is probably a stock 1100/1300 unit (£50) but could be a GT version from a 1600 Sport (£250+), a single rail Cortina Type 3 (£150) or a 2000E Mexico unit (£500+) Rear axle? 3.77 and 3.54 are the valuable diffs.

As for the V5: If it's a Mark 1 it has a value as an 1100/1300, Mexico stuff is £2000+ 1600 Sport @ £500-1000. Sort of illegal to sell a V5 and you'll have some fart from PH blabbing on but sold with the Escort running gear, perfectly ok IMO.

This could be a very nice four figure payday, and sell the Jago body and chassis for a few quid afterwards.

I’d bin the glassfibre and wood bits pronto and flog the running gear and engine as described above. Then squander the proceeds on going on holiday or something. These were cack when they were put together properly, it’s not like you are desecrating a 250 GTO Ferrari.

Are you guys really sure you post on the right forum?

I mean, seriously now.

This beauty* needs to get on the road at all* costs. Preferably with a low-compression 1100 x-flow under the bonnet, for maximum misery points.

Can’t wait to see this and hear more, the first post sums up better than anything ever could how exciting it is when you find stuff like this. I don’t believe any non-rubbish car fan could experience this delight.

Someone will have spent a lot of time on this, at some point in its life. Be a shame to write it off and fuel the OSF scene tax at the same time.

True, but depending on how borked it is it may be easier to lob the GRP body onto something else ( say a Suzuki chassis / running gear).

That's fabulous, the fact it's free is just the icing on the cake. It certainly look a million times better than you'd have any right to expect, 159,684/10.

 that’s pretty good! Way too good to break imo.

Offer it up on here when you’re done with it ;)

Fook, that looks an epic win there. Floor should be a doddle to fix with some marine ply, mechanicals are knife & fork simple too.

That looks way way way better than I was expecting tbh. I think you've scored big* with this. Shouldn't take much to make it run either.

I offer my uselessness if you need it! I've got a suitable tow car but no trailer...

Also I've got a gasket set for this engine and some old but usable working points, condenser etc somewhere if needed to get it running.

Thanks Dan - it needs moving before Christmas, and next weekend if possible. Any chance of a meetup?

That looks a hundred times better than I was expecting, in fact it looks better than most of the MOTd kit cars that get featured on the eBay tat thread.

Interesting about the screen, every day's a school day.

I'd forgotten how shite these things look, not seen one for years.

Surely it'd be a doddle* to get a XR4x4 drive train under it for proper 4x4yness?
