MoT booked for tomorrow ?

No, 2CV is in tomorrow.

1973? Does it need one?

Yes, until May. I think it'll need one regardless in order for me to change the tax class from disabled.

Video is currently rendering. It's a pretty large one (26 minutes) so it's going to take a while. Hoping it'll be live by 3pm.

Sorted that for you  :-D

This is going to be epic.

One of my contacts has acquired top secret meant to be destroyed paperwork from one of the former head officials for the invalid vehicle service. Amongst the pile is essentially the blue prints for every component for the model 70,that in theory would enable one to be built from scratch.I'm hoping to take a gander in the spring :-)

Lets all just take a moment to be thankful that the brave adventurer survived the maiden voyage.

Well done that!

So when you starting to restore the spares car then?

*Legs it for cover before tools get thrown at him*

I like the sign on the dash “passenger carrying is forbidden”.

Superb.  She is a bit nippy off the line isn't she?

Just a bit! I damn near shat myself the first time she took off. Not an easy vehicle to drive one handed...

Power to weight ratio? Probably not bad.

Somewhere in the ballpark of 50bhp/tonne - though from memory really quite low geared at the bottom end as well, so probably gets off the mark surprisingly rapidly.

Did it bother anyone else that the engine cover hinges were in the closed position?

Other than that ocd quibble, TEN ON TEN for style, effort and panache!

I suppose we now come to the basic question - what do you intend to do with it? I appreciate getting it running is an end in itself, but it’s primary function is transport after all.

Drive it accross at least one continent!!!!!

People used to drop their kids off at School and get booked for it.

Excuse was 'how am I supposed to take them?"

Most got fined, some got off.

Superb. What a joy!

It does make you glad that the mad guy in his shed still exists in the 21st century.

Huzzah indeed! TWC has now been woken from her long slumber, you look a very happy, if slightly terrified beardiebloke, and it does look pretty nippy. That is a major hurdle overcome, and after you slightly lost your mojo when the mount gave way, and the missfire happened, once you hooned her up & down the drive, that mojo was back. Well done to Team Wobbler, and I hope you apologised to the wife for filming her arse LOL

And even more happily, doesn’t live next door!

Assuming the orange light on the dash is the EML and you need to plug it into a laptop to do some diags?

Genuinely about the best video I've ever watched. Hats off to you, Ian, and good luck with the MOT.

Don’t forget to take a photo of the testers face when you turn up. My bet is the “what have I done to deserve this” expression.

Any closer to figuring out what's causing the "sneezing" every now and then still?

Seems very similar to what I've got at the moment - I'll start it up to take it out the garage one time and it'll be backfiring, carrying on and running on one and a half cylinders - I'll mutter profanities at it, come back ten minutes later and then it's bloody fine...

Does seem to get up and go quite nicely!

Glad to see your clutch seems to behave exactly the same as mine, I was worried that mine was being a bit on the abrupt side when it engaged - but seeing yours behaving the same tends to make me think that maybe is just how they are.
