Seriously, I thought small arch Shadow 1’s had progressed beyond the Wedding car/ white Dulux, Banger Racer,  HMC level to become bona-fide classics.

Theyve got a properly dodgy image havent they. I for sure wont drive it with a white shoulder length wig , tracksuit, yellow shades and a cigar. (Now then now then)

They're old cars which should = simple and cheap to fix.

But I get the impression from YT vids that this isn't the case.

On the upside, it looks like the roof is very strong.

Many of these look fab from 20ft away but up close they are bulging with filler. Like the brides they transport.

The mechanic I've been taking my cars to recently (Dave) has one that he hires out for weddings and stuff. He's a good guy, not too expensive and into old cars. Which makes me feel like I could safely* buy this from @HMC when the time comes with no worries about future maintenance. Also, while picking up my 13 year old daughter from school today she suggested that my next car should be "not an Audi" (I had just remarked on an A8) but something "properly posh, like a Rolls Royce or something".

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it. PLEASE CAN I COME AND SIT IN IT?

Here's Dave's one.

It wasn’t all paedos and racists.

It was alcoholics too.

was it the pressure of owning the potential liabilities, that caused his drink issues.

Nice ones are worth decent coin, but it's so costly to restore a tired one (of which there are many) that shabby examples are still only parts car money.

A 1933 20/25 Spirit of Ecstasy is different to a Silver Shadow so I would have to buy the whole car to make use of the Shadow emblem!

What did your kids say when you picked them up from school in the Roller?

Harry’s garage YouTube yesterday mentioned something like a £6000 engine rebuild cost.

Not unless he'd been given the day off.

True, some were drug dealers and criminals.

Good from afar, but far from good.

Some of these Rolls have interesting histories.

Is the tinted glass a modern applied film or the original Pilkington 'Sundym' glass?

If it's the latter - it was a very expensive option at the time and not something much specified all round like this one. If it is original - it may indicate it spent some time abroad in its life.
