That legend looks great for the money. Lovely colour too.

No doubt this will get crushed the day before I find I need a load of stuff for my 623

Great news on the payout from the AA, glad to hear they were easy to deal with.

Another coupe for you to consider, the metallic purple paint looks glorious when it's given a good polish

Another Legend, dull colour but seems pretty good for the money.

Or pillage the 620 SDI for any parts you could swap over on to this fine steed.

Civic Type S Mr Wobbler? 2.0 4 pot pez, but they are really tough engines with a cam chain, and they go well.

We had one for 3 years and it was superb, fast, quiet and comfortable and pretty much unburtstable.

This one on autotrader is the cheapest I've ever seen.

As a curve ball, and not totally divorced from the 600...

Accord Aerodeck-  the non Princess Anne Land Of The Rising Sun Replica version.

Library* image because there don't appear to be any on eBay.  Scarce, then.

Some great options there. No doubt I'll ignore them and buy a sodding Panda or something.

Like rocking horse poo now, they all seemed to disapear about 18 months ago from all of the usual sale sites.

Theres a purple 2.2 EX that lives somewhere round here, looks superb as the old boy blezzes about in it.

Legend is a good choice but the ride isn't as smooth as you'd expect for the class and they don't handle at all. On the other hand they make a lovely noise with the window open just a crack and all the toys should work. Expect mid 20s fuel consumption and check in the usual places for rust and corroded fuel/brake/power steering pipes in particular as parts back up outside of Honda is patchy.

Much preferred driving the pre facelift one and they look better but any would provide an alternative Japanese luxobarge.

The Lex in Swansea looks bloody good for the money. Some excellent options!

Could you fit the Rover front end panels and make the only 600 estate?

Handily, I have found an excellent* review of the Legend.

Deary me. Anyone would thing she's never driven a car with buttons on the steering wheel before. This was in 1999, not 1979. "OMG IT HAS CROOZE CONTROL! MOST AMAZING FING EVAH!"

Oh and the car that's getting me really excited at the moment is neither Japanese nor Jaguar. Predictably.

Peugeot 605? If you can find one.

Dugong to the beige courtesy phone, please...

How about a 607? £800 but open to offers.

This car drives with out fault. I brought it recently as was in urgent need of transport but I am now being given a company car by the end of the month. I have driven it to London, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight and back.... Makes for a very comfortable drive. Very affordable old school luxury. All reasonable offers considered

Here's the thing - do I get myself something that is ACTUALLY nice? Something I can actually look at and go "Yeah, I really like the look of that."

I ask because Fiat Coupes have found their way back on to my radar, and are perhaps the most exciting vehicle within budget. Not Japanese in the slightest, but maybe I should put my personal enjoyment ahead of magazine requirements. I still have the RAV after all for Japanese kicks.

Pyeonghwa Hwiparam?

No, he's in another bit of Wales.

If it's going to be Fiat, has to be an x1/9 ;-)

..or a Stilo arbath 2.4...

I went to say farewell to the Rover today.

Here's why. A bloody plastic cage to hold the differential together. Nice one Rover! This bit appears to be no longer inside the gearbox

All a bit sad really. Maybe I did like this car after all.
