Allegro Vanden Nah (Bad car! No picnic!)

Hull isn't a bad place, and the beautiful East coast is only a stone's throw.  But it does have... a pub with a human skull inside.

Funnily enough, most pubs do have human skulls inside them.

But often without fully functioning brains contained therein, particularly towards the end of an evening, or is that just me?

I agree, is it a manuel or a heather?

I didn't know they made the VDP as late as '80.  Compared to the regular Allegro of 1980 with it's chunky bumpers and full size plastic wheel trims it looks really antiquated.  I suppose that was the point though, wasn't it?  Nouveau Riche nonsense.

Brilliant.

The Vanden Plas never was updated to Series 3 spec.

Nice one! I'm glad this worked out for you, is it as good as it sounded? That interior was it's selling point for me!

Outstanding!

I shall be pestering you for an AS temporary swappage deal as soon as I have something roadworthy that might interest you.

The mother of a lad at primary school had one of these on a S plate. However the front number plate was off to the side like on an Alfa. I have no idea why, would it improve air to the radiator?

Nah, it would merely obstruct one of the foglights.

Well, only one was made, I remember seeing this at Gaydon but apparently they sold it. Probably scrapped now.post-17414-0-74770500-1468107148_thumb.jpeg

That spoiler would have really helped it compete against XR3s and Gti s.

I'd say so, yes. The interior can be improved but it won't need much more than cleaning. There is some minor wear damage to the driver's seat, and the headlining is drooping enough to gently caress the top of your head while driving. The picnic trays are good. The body looks very presentable - there's a big rust blotch on the passenger side wing, and there's some bubbling around the windscreen I want to take care of but those photos I posted are pretty true to life.

IIRC the 1750 Allegro had the same 0-60 as an XR3.
