Incredibly well done, these are lovely little cars and one day I hope to buy one as an OLLI alternative.

Brilliant. What an ace looking thing.

Don't forget there's no centre diff on these, so tight turns with four-wheel drive engaged are best avoided. Apols if you already knew.

Just watch out for James May, he may be reading this and finding your grid reference as I type. Top work.

Great stuff!

That paint's come up a treat!

I love the mk1, very lucky to have one but a 4x4 mk1 is definitely on the bucket list.

This knocks the Wheeler Dealers stone-chip coated effort into a cocked hat*.

Great car, great skills, great thread!

(*no offence intended to WD - I think it's a good show :) )

great work there, a pleasure to see things happening at such a pace.

the last time I saw one of these little panda 4x4s, it was earning it's keep delivering supplies of pop and ice cream to the souvenir shack at the top of mount Vesuvius - it was hard enough work walking up, maximum restecp to the might panda making it all the way up to the rim of the crater

Ace. Brilliant job. Well done in seeing it right through

I nearly mullered an old Honda 900 climbing up that ash slope on Vesuvius back in the day. Severely clacking big ends by the time it got to the top, sufficient to make me sell it, when finally it returned to the uk, several months later.

Just look at what you can do now Dave2468Motorway...

You can follow a jogger up a hill with your stopwatch. And go Eighties windsurfing.

You do, clearly.   Value of these is only going to go one way* etc. etc.

This is great Dave24/7. I've enjoyed reading this thread from start to finish. I only wish I had half the skills and arsed to get my Mk1 Sterling back to rude health, sadly it's far beyond my skills set.

Right hand drive conversions anyone? If you can convert Freelanders, a Panda should be easy!

Am I being dim? whats this thing and where does it go? it was in the bottom of the bucket of bolts n stuff.

The pointy circle corresponds with the foot of the standard jack, but I dont see the purpose of it?

Those Panda jacks are great for spreading palisade fence pales apart. So I've heard.

Not sure what the mystery part is, perhaps there was more to it at one time to spread the load of the jack?

Posted

I wondered if it was to add an extra couple of inches height to the jack to account for the 4x4s suspension?
