Nice bikes the early f650 , I have the prilla version and love it .

In other bike news I was offered a z440 Ltd last week for 200 quid

A Peg was the first bike I went to Europe on, I killed it on the autobahn, fixed it,rode home and sold it. Missed it ever since!

Which is a brilliant bike, and seems to do everything you ask of it !
Fitted new Avon tyres to it, but think i'll get the wheels re-spoked soon (If anyone can recommend anywhere, greatly appreciated !)

Ive used Jeff before at KB Wheels in Bolton - might be a bit far for you, but he rebuilt an RXS rim for me and added additional spokes / changed the hub because I R FAT.

Hey, dont knock it I Joined the Lancashire Slow Riders yesterday.

Look, I like small things - I already have some ideas on the Atala... Ive got the horn sor something small - Ive even bought an open face lid for the occasion.

Were they the ones on Granada Reports the other week that went round riding byways and trying to cross fords on old C90s and mopeds and often fell off?

Posted

Quite possibly, I rarely watch the telly these days so couldnt comment but there are a LOT of them with C90's/70's/50's.

Ive noticed this a lot just recently with the hot weather - I get to the local shops to buy a loaf of bread or what not, but something must be wrong with the steering on the Grom.

The thing wont go straight home - it takes the longest route possible and ages to get home.

The local bike shop says that it is something to do with the loose nut between the seat and the handle bars.

So this has popped up on eee-bay and I inexplicably like it. A lot. '92 Honda CB400 Super Four imported from somewhere that uses kilometers in 2000. Don't even have a CBT and can't do direct access until late this year. Could I buy it now, do my A2 ASAP then do direct after my 24th to ditch the restriction? I got fucked when they changed the age at which you could do DA by an annoyingly small amount of time.

I'd just check on the cost of doing your test twice, it cost me about 500 quid to do direct access, A2 is the same test just on a smaller bike so doing both could cost a lot depending where you live.

There's no auto upgrade to an unrestricted license anymore, so you will have to pay for a second test to upgrade if you do A2.

The more AS way to sort the reg/rec is fit a PC processor fan to it, they run off 12v so connect it to any feed & instant cooling.

Have to change the indicators, and look at the rear caliper, rear seems to be binding a little.

Is it an age thing?!! Riding home yesterday after collecting the gsx, I was very aware of my surroundings. To the extent that I was nervous and the journey was slightly unpleasant. Had sports bikes years ago (last one sold in '04) and haven't really ridden since. Have i just grown up? Have I become afraid of other road users? It wasn't like this before!

I'm tempted to buy something this weekend, I've been without a road legal bike for a year now and think it's time to get back in the saddle, anybody had a tiger 955i?

I sat on one once, then bought the 14.

nope, i'd say it's a 'not ridden for a while' thing.  i get really twitchy on my first outing after anything more than a month.  after a few days of riding again, i soon get back into the swing of things.  add to that the fact that you are riding an unfamiliar bike, that you dont fully trust yet, and i'm sure that will make things worse.

tl;dr - you'll get back into it :-)

Nope but I have an 855i and it will be for sale along with the 600 bandit.

What about Mersey Motorcycles? I'm sure they will sort you out.

I take it you mean the steamer as the 855i is exactly the same as the 955
