In no other country have I seen so many partially/entirely missing bumpers as I have in the US. Just too many people who cannot drive/don't care about anything. That's where state-enforced rules really make a difference, imagine the condition of the safety relevant stuff you can't immediately spot.

I saw a young guy who couldn't have been more than 19 driving a battered to fuck mid 2000s SLK Kompressor yesterday. Given the look of him and the car I reckon it's one middling bill away from the crusher but that's the best kind of car when you're that age. Hate to think what the insurance must be like.

Maybe not as bad as you think? I was faffing around getting spurious quotes on an SLK350 and it's about half the cost of a FreeLander 1 of the same year -maybe because there's only half the seats?

On the other hand, maybe he just does not insure it?
