Autoshites *official* WANTED/OFFERED thread...

Saddens me to (try and) sell this as I love it to bits but it's just not getting used. BSA Tour of Britain 5 speed racer. Really nice condition for it's age (I would think late 1970s-early 1980s) and the metallic green paint is as funky as hell.

I'll get frame measurements tomorrow if anyone's interested, I think it's about 21 inches though. Obviously it's an old bike that has been used so isn't a box fresh show stopper but it's definitely above average and always attracts nice comments when you're out and about on it. Full chrome mudguards fitted.

£125 collected from Chester. No, it's not cheap but that sort of money nowadays buys you a shit roadbike from Tesco's that will last about 3 months then fall to bits.

I am very much dahn sarf.  The location of the building is not far from bognor regis / littlehampton.

does of course add an issue of how far anyone would be willing to travel to some storage....

As you are  351miles from me i am out.Still a good idea through

More of a hobby to fund the hobby I suppose, but like a lot of hobbies it's sort of grown very very quickly.

A very large stab in the dark, but does anyone happen to have a rust free Maestro N/S/R door in Champagne Beige lying around?

Would accept one in a different colour if it was local or I had a way of getting it transported without costing a fortune. Thanks!

Question for all:  Not a for sale or wanted, but thought this thread was probably the right place.

I've got the opportunity to buy a remarkably cheap and remarkably large industrial unit.  Access to it is a bit crap, but not awful.  My thoughts are to use it as a winter storage for cars, specifically offering it to people who don't have use of a garage / carport or similar, but who don't want their prized autoshite going rusty in the winter months.

If I were to offer dry, de-humidified, heated storage, with the option to keep batteries topped up and tyres rolled / car on stands, secure, alarmed and out of the way of harm (but at a location I visit most days) how much would people genuinely be willing to pay?  I'd look to offer a per-month cost, or a "over winter" service.

Just want to know if it's even viable.

I wouldn't bother, honestly. You'd be constantly chasing up money, and then if anything goes missing you're up the poopoo. Heating such a large area would cost a fortune and wouldn't be financially viable.

If the epic and ever so long running thread about workshops and storage on Retro Rides has anything to go by, the answer to this is bugger all distance at all. Everyone seems to want something in their back yard so they can tootle round, have an admiring look or play with their pet project and work on it, but without taking much time or costing much fuel to get there ;)

I'm on my second go at a storage place with another forum member who sadly due to family circumstances I was unable to concentrate on in 2013, this year hope is much higher :)

In case any of you like Kate Bush...

An eBay joblot means I've ended up with three copies of this cassette:

I obviously don't need 3, so two are up for grabs FOC, no postage either.

PM me an address if you're interested and I'll post it as soon as I can afterwards.

Attention shite camper van owners: I have a wall mounting catalytic gas heater circa 1977,  probably never been used, runs on butane (blue cylinder) and probably propane (red cylinder) or camping gaz but you would have to check.

Its a Kontite-therm'x 320TC. complete with original documentation including the guarantee registration card which was never filled in.

Condition wise, the chrome work is a bit rusty and the cream metal case has some varnish on it where someone couldn't be asked to mask up before varnishing the surrounding wood work. It should clean up nicely. The starting button is missing it's knob.

Open to offers basically, or exchange for a full length roofrack for a Citroen XM (unlikely I know that anyone wanting the heater would have one hanging around).

I can post some pics and dimensions if anyone is vaguely interested.

Hermes would want £6.90 to deliver.

Hybrid, anyone?

Marin 20.5 inch, done about 30 miles from new and obviously in superb order.

Shiters price is £250, delivery possible (at cost) or meet me at the railway station if you like as bikes are free on most trains.

I've had a clearout of my trailer and I've stumbled across some bits if anybody wants them.

I've found a Renner 5 GT Turbo steering wheel - not in great condition but perfectly usable. Complete with horn push.

Porsche 944 glovebox lid with Porsche badge (as mentioned before on this forum somewhere...)

Pair of back lights for Pug 206 - 2003 onwards so later shape.

SP mesh front grille for 206 - not in great condition but again, fine to use as it is.

Set of clocks for 206 GTi - silver faced. 133k on clock.

2x Vauxhall V-grilles for Mk4 Astra.

Fusion sub and amp - not sure what wattage but I can have a looksee.

There's probably some more things I've forgotten to list but I'm open to offers on all of the above. I'm not in a rush to sell so they'll not be scrapped in 12 minutes from now.

Fuel filler neck for C10 Mitsu Colt urgently required.

One from a J-reg Proton would fit as well, believe it, or not.

My last experience of Freecycle was >.<, dunno what happened to the shitecycle thread on here, this will do as it's OFFERS - free to collector. I'm in Stevenage.

1 x 2 mtr (just over 6 ft) sofa in proper beige, minor damage to arms (cat scratches where covers don't reach), non-smoking household, clean as has spent most of its life under cover, but cannot guarantee totally 100% cat hair free (those buggers seem to work their way everywhere). Will probably need transit van/similar to collect.

2 x chrome bar stools, black cushion seats (vinyl I expect)

1 x ergonomic office chair, black, arms are a bit dodgy (they fall off if you pull the chair round by them, otherwise stay put.) Comes with free footrest because I've never used the bloody thing.

1 x round table, seats 4-5, actually an office type table with metal pedestal/legs, reasonable nick. I think I managed to fit this inside my Xsara when I acquired it, it took a LOT of swearing though.

1 x 2 shelf bookcase/display unit - about 5 ft wide, very sturdy (will soak up as many car magazines as will fit without bowing/breaking), scratch on top, glass doors looooong gone - otherwise OK. Will probably need estate/small van.

1 x set of office drawers, light beech effect, wheels, etc.

Reason for getting rid: new temporary accommodation is SMALL. VERY small. If anyone is interested I'll PM exact measurements and photos. Collection within the next 40 minutes or I'm setting fire to them might be doable any time up until this Sunday apart from Fri pm, as I have holiday and can work my other commitments round collections. Otherwise Fri 31/Sat 1/Sun 2 Feb are probably bestest.
