Disappointed that the instruments are so conventional 😂

I’m pretty sure a lot of the stuff in here ended up in the facelift laguna ii - I’m guessing they had loads left because nobody bought them

Not much to report on the ol’ collection front - just having a quick coffee at Stafford services atm

Don't worry, they'll randomly stop working soon enough.

The instruments at least are identical to our old lag 2!

Have you got over how noisy it will be at speed yet?

It would, but he has 9 stops planned regardless so it feels familiar 👌

I can't remember if this age Velshatis speaks?

Reminds me of this golden video.

But apart from that…

Only Renault would specifically fit a "speaking computer" as a paid option for its sole purpose in life to tell you what is wrong with the car.

I have spent some of my afternoon making the charge port of my Renault stop spraying electrons* all over the road.

Thoughts so far:

Engine is strong, quiet and seems healthy. Overdue a service, but that’s not a worry.

Gearbag is as gearbags do. Needs a fluid change or two first and foremost I think to see if it improves the performance. I gather @SiC’s Laguna with the same box was much improved so I’m hopeful.

Front suspension has pretty much left the chat. Not quite sure what needs changing, but possibly all of it. There are several parts with the car suggesting a previous owner knew this, so it’ll hopefully be quite a cheap job!

3/4 tyres need changing so it’ll need a set. Will work on the suspension first I think.

Parking brake is inop, not sure if it’s just the usual Renault epb fuckery or not

All in all there’s a good car in there, and it performed well on the journey home. Happy!

Photos of the suspension, pls. Twin bolt Macstrut at the front, and divorced spring/shock at the rear?

I really don't know what the Renault designers were thinking when they penned that.

I know. It's bloody brilliant isn't it!

Tyres aren’t cheap 😳 I haven’t actually checked the size on the car yet but presuming it’s the 18s that tyre websites seem to think it’s £600 for a set of @sierraman approved Michelins.

Mine was on 17's which also didn't cost threepence. The fair wife has offered up our 75 as a px when you've had enough, as apparently it was her fave ever autoshitemobile!

Is it a V6? 👀

Think Costco are doing £80 back on a set of 4 Michelins at the mo'.

Still £520 for a set!  Much cheaper than KwikFit clearly though.

I was about to say that it must be 17s that came on the 3.5 but checking my photos they are indeed 18". And yes, I'm genuine curious to see whether the suspension components are exactly what it needs. I don't know how it passed it's MOT without any of it being mentioned (even as an advisory) but with the suspension stuff in the car for probably over a year now it hardly happened between July and the time I bought it in November. At least it should all be shared with the Laguna 2 in the front, so fairly cheap.

No ours was the 2.0 turbo bike, but first dibs please.

Mine was same colour, same box and engine. Only 76 k miles. Kept for 3 years.  Changed the oils, the springs and spark plugs. Mine was Initialle trim with the wood. They go well and handle not bad for a big car......at the expense of comfort on rough roads.
