During this evenings bowel empty laps we spotted this amazing bit of work.

Anyone top this?

I've seen Mk I and Mk II Mondeos with bumpers covered almost entirely in tape...

More mk2 personally but yes a great look.

Saw this in Tesco carpark a year or two back.

I think, by area, there's more tape used here than on the Astra!

Not quite within the parameters of the OP, but this delicate electrical tape latticework on a Mondeo is surely worth an honourable mention:

Or indeed, parcel tape on this Mk3 Cav:

And you don't see Sierras like this anymore:

Special bonus points to whoever went to the trouble of covering up all the rust holes on their ex-BT Bedford HA van with gaffer tape before giving it a quick blowover in Appliance White, for that seamless* look:

Unbelievably, it still ended up being scrapped. I know!

Many years ago when Ducati 916/996s were the hot snot sportsbikes to have , I was at Pembrey doing a track day on my SV.

Watching the fast group go round I spotted a ducati with full carbon bodywork absolutely flying round. At the end of the session i wandered round the paddock to take a look at this beast .

That's when I found it wasnt full carbon at all. It was 100% covered in gaffa tape 🤣

Having had many many Mondeos you can imagine I’m a dab hand with gaffer tape. For a professional finish spray over the gaffer tape for that ‘invisible seamless repair’. Ideally in not quite the correct colour and hold the aerosol still occasionally so you can get the runs in indicative of a repair done and completed on a Wednesday night in February while an Iceland Chicken Tikka lasagne is being microwaved.

Easy to spot a cherished automobile...

I bet sales of gaffer tape have plummeted since all the MK1 and 2 Mondeos got scrapped.

My personal favourite was this Vectra I saw in Brixton in 2011.

That made me remember this...

36 Duct Tape Car Stock Photos, High-Res Pictures, and Images - Getty Images

Yvan Muller at the 1999 BTCC opener - he'd hit the back of (I think) Rickard Rydell which broke the bonnet catch, did a couple of laps with it flapping more and more loose before it fully flew up over his screen as he was about to enter the pit lane, leaving him to crawl slowly to his pit completely blind.  The meeting (and I think the same race) was most memorable for a certain Matt Neal's first victory in his privateer Nissan beating all the factory teams.

Really appreciate the colour coding on some of these. Neat trimming gives extra points in my book.

An internet find here though great work even if you can see they got bored when it came to making the sill join seamless.

This was all fixed with gaffa tape 2 years ago and its still there.

Latest accident (not bike, snapped rope) a couple of weeks ago gave me a fractured finger so I'm currently working with it gaffer taped to its neighbour!

Do I get bonus points for doing this to a 5 year old car?

Not guilty, this is what the next owner did to my 214.

Tape is alright if you've got a black or silver car.Someone needs to start making colour coded stuff.

I'm sure Ford used to sell colour matched Motorcraft tape in all popular Mondeo bumper colours............. 😜

I spotted this years ago, it still makes me chuckle.

I must have looked like a right weirdo getting into the passengers side just to get this picture.

Once they’d had a bash those bumpers were irreparable. Sometimes on a minor split you could stop the split drilling a hole at the end then backing it but it never took filler to any acceptable standard. Another bumper time… £50 pattern bumper then spray it yourself. Done loads of them in my time.
