Lovely to see you all as always, apologies to anyone that I didn’t manage to catch! I love the eclectic mix of cars we produce, I look forward to hopefully getting out more this year to meet more folks and see more cars.

Thank you @inconsistant for organising the meet up, really appreciate it!

Apologies as I was intending to drop in as a surprise after the long haul Audi collection from Wigan.

Got back 2am and just crashed out..... Was looking forward to seeing some of you again and meeting new faces.

Getting too old for all-nighters without repercussions 🙄

Thanks for an enjoyable meetup, good to see familiar faces and to meet some new faces and cars too.

Thanks for organising @inconsistant! Top work!

Didn't know you were there, would have liked to meet you, and @richardmorris too. My rough count is 25 names represented there, did anyone take the register? 😀

Apologies! I was the bald guy there with the redhead in the Bauhaus t-shirt (my daughter) if that helps to place me?

Certainly was a good turnout

Funnily enough, yes! However, with my terrible memory for faces, I'll have to start all over again next time!

Thanks also to @inconsistant for organising us, was a fun day out, though I need a list of who everyone is.  Good to finally see the Sierra, thanks @Peter C for bringing it along, the car of the day though the Skoda might have something to say about that.

Thanks also to @CaptainBoom for the gloves.  I had a box for me and a small box for Mrs Lisbon_Road (who possibly looked less than ecstatic with her fine gift but I guess it takes all sorts).

First day out for my car in more than a year (red Astra) and it went superbly, the fully rebuilt suspension making it drive very well (these aren't legendary for handling........at all) and it seemed to go much better which I can only put down to the new exhaust as I haven't changed anything else.

Further to previous comments, all of which I fully agree with, I can only add one photograph.

Pinto v AMG

Great event, looking forward to the next one.

Thx to @inconsistant for organising.

Thx to @FakeConcern I think for letting me sit in a bit of a dream car for me volvo c30 t5 manual. 2.5 ltr 5 cylinder .Lovely.

Also the skoda was amazing to see.And the saab 900

Great to speak to some of you.

Special mention to @Weird Car for the story of buying the mx5. That is the way to live. All the way from portsmouth to Yorkshire to buy the car, only to find out it was an automatic once there, but buy it anyway.

And importantly the long motorway run ( and a dose of cataclean ) in the laguna on Sunday, today resulted in a good mot pass. And emission results remarkably good. Another year of luxury motoring !

What a fab morning! Thanks so much to everyone who came (and to @LightBulbFun who unfortunately didn't quite make it but still won the day's bravery award).

It's just brilliant that so many of us really really want to meet up IRL and chat old car nonsense in a car park! I struggled to talk to everyone and look at all the cars closely but what a turn out.

The Skoda was a beaut.

@Alan_Green's Saab looked really sharp.

Who's was the red MG estate, we chatted for a while and sorry I can't remember! Maybe @High Jetter but sorry off that's wrong.

And the Frontera, nice!

And I think that's now 3 years that I've been trying to work out who @richardmorris is to say hello but failed!

Hopefully my 'not yet Autoshite but hopefully will be very soon' chum Alex will be signed up shortly, it was nice seeing his Combi van up close, it's usually boosting off into the distance.

French executive pairing of 406 and Laguna was quite a sight.

And @Peter C 's Sapphire is just lovely and could show @nev_jr's Benz a thing or two about style.

Although to be fair his reg plate was spot on...

hah :) I Was actually thinking the picture of REV on the hard shoulder would make for a good calander photo, its both a nice photo and suitably autoshite, theres even a similar colour Fiat 500 going the other way :)

(and its also undeniable proof that, yes I have been on the M25 with REV, as most seem to react with disbelief when I tell them that LOL)

I’m shy ( honestly, I speak to people I know but hate starting new conversations ) and incognito! I was mostly talking to @Three Speed and a bit with @Weird Car  .

We’ll have to try again next year!

Certainly. Perhaps name badges / forum names would be a good idea? I recognise cars more than people!

Or… we could force everyone to sit in folding chairs in front of their cars looking grumpy as they pour weak lemon drink out of a flask like every other car show!

I really don’t like the type of show that fences off the cars for people to sit and talk amongst themselves- it doesn’t invite questions and potential new members.

Saw you. Thought you'd be worth speaking with, no clue who you were. Will try harder next time.

Socialising has never come naturally to me either! Was great to meet some new faces, but like you there were plenty who I didn't get round to speaking with. If nothing else, it's the perfect excuse to do it again!

Also what an eclectic mix of cars! Must admit I felt like I'd let the side down turning up in a dreary modern hatchback, but it's currently my only road-worthy mode of transport!

Name badges sound like a good idea too.

+1 for name badges.

1 roll of masking tape and a Sharpie should do it.

Depends where the tape is applied tho 🤣

When I was at this meet I was chatting to someone and can't remember who it was, but I mentioned I put an Orion grill on my XR3i and I think they didn't really understand what I was talking about. Anyway I just happened to find these pics of it...

That was me.

Lovely Escort and that grille works well.

This was my dad’s Orion.

The photo was taken in west London in the late 1980s. That’s me leaning on the car and my two mates.

I seem to recall fitting an Orion grille was a cheap way to get the S1 Turbo look?

Yup, that's why I only used them for rads. Got plates from Autolec, a factors owned by a great guy who also did chauffered Rolls hire, now retired.

Thanks Rich for organising this, and providing me a safe haven where I could bring my van without having to justify it! He's been hassling me to start a project thread on here for ages, so I'll do that soon - ish.
