sierraman Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Wowzers in my trousers. I’m just off to a dark room for a week to browse these mags. Cheers! Tubbo, goosey, wesacosa and 2 others 5
artdjones Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Thanks, just looked up the first issue I ever bought. 20th June 1973, commemorating 60 years of Morris. They only lasted just over 10 more years. I couldn't help noticing that synthetic engine oil was just on the market from Mobil at the then stupendous price of £1.10 per litre, double what the most expensive normal oils cost. Tubbo 1
tooSavvy Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 You have all guessed I'm concentrating on 1963 >> Hillman IMP launch!! My local..... 🚙💨 Tubbo, 500tops and High Jetter 3
Peter C Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Cool, I've managed to download a couple Sierra Sapphire road tests. Tubbo 1
beko1987 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Wow! Chavs modifying their card and zooming about in London is nothing new it seems Peeking at the last article before I cut it off I drove a corsa c in similar conditions for a winter before unclogging the heater matrix...

HMC Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 The 1988 road test of a lada samara noted how on power the test car pulled to the left, and off power it tended to track right, and that there was most likely air in the brake hydraulics. #great times wesacosa 1
HMC Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 ps can we screenshot and share pages of note or is that not to be encouraged? Tubbo 1
grogee Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Thanks for the link @Tubbo. I've been feasting on 1980s Autocar, when motoring journalism wasn't dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. Good test of the/my MG Maestro 2.0, which I'll share if it's not frowned upon by the powers that be. HMC and Tubbo 2
Christine Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 It says 1996 Honda Civic 2 door hatch is the best car ever made .. Tubbo 1

My god they were dreadfully critical !
JakeT Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I am sad enough to pay the £130 a year for access, free is even better for a week. The search is quite poor though, and seems to find loads from the small ads. some favourite issues: November 1959. Taking a Mini around the med September 1983. Taking a merc 190e from Athens to the arctic circle March 1993. Mondeo doing 12,000 miles in a week. Happy reading, all!
