I thought the Mini 1100 Special, 1983 Sprite, and (optionally) early Mayfair looked pretty smart with their 10-inch Exacton alloys.

Different cars suit different wheels, even down to trim level but I have always liked the Ronal alloys on early mk2 Capri Ghia’s ( The ones on the right)

From the aftermarket wheels, Cosmic an Dunlop D1’s are great, both already mentioned.

The best 12" wheel for the Mini is the GKN that was used by the Mini Challenge cars.

I like the ones on the 99 EMS and GLE.

Vauxhall always done nice steel wheel designs in my opinion. However, I particularly like the alloys on the 1982-86 Carlton CD  @sutty2006 . Very easy to clean.

Always kind of wanted a metallic pink Vitara with the white floppytop and these wheels.

The more I look at them, the more I think they’re more centre cap than alloy 🤣

In a similar vein to the Carlton alloys, these ones from the Cavalier SR/SRi

My favourite old Merc alloys are the Lorinser LO, a replica of the OE 15-hole wheels with a dished polished rim,

I actually rather liked the ones on my 940 - plain, simple with no fiddly bits to try and keep clean

I suppose technically, steel is an alloy.

As well as some of the above, I'm a big fan of

And

All on the right car obviously. Later stuff can look good on Azev As I think

Same era as the Nova GTE above - I thought these were much, much smarter than wot the XR3/XR3i came with.
(Allegedly these cars are now worth a mint - how did that become a thing?)
