I'm having to bail on it this year. First missing Shitefest, now this! The 500-mile round trip just isn't appealing after a lot of travel lately. Going to focus on things closer to home and try to actually rest up a bit if we can.

Given the location, it must be a good few hours away for the majority of the population. 362 miles round trip or 3.5hrs of motorway for me is enough to put me off driving anything old up there.

To be honest I'd rather have one last day trip down to Moretonhampstead Motor Museum before it closes up at the end of August this year. (Which is probably more just the introvert in me that prefers that sort of quieter day...)

I think that’s why I don’t do the car show thing at all. I just can’t stand being in crowded places or too many other people being around. 
Which is stupid really as they’re all there for the same reason and its people you’d have shared interests with (mostly), I just can’t bring myself to do it. 
That’s a lot of the reason I don’t attend even local shiters meet ups! Don’t know why I’m like it tbh and it really holds me back sometimes!

320ish miles each way for me. Google reckons 6hrs but factor in the ideal cruising speed for a 57bhp Dolomite with a roofrack and a couple of stops to stretch the legs and use the facilities I reckon it'll be the best part of 8hrs.

Rather than going straight back up the road after the show, like we usually do, we're going to overnight in Harrogate, then up to Beamish Museum for the day, overnight locally and then the rest of the trip home on Monday.

This all assuming we make it, my record distance thus far is 20.6 miles, before breaking down at Bothwell Services just south of Glasgow... The goal is to have my Dolly and @MrsJuular's and @blackboilersuit's Toledos parked together.

I’ll be there. A mere 150 miles for me, but always an enjoyable day out. The pal that comes with me does have to come from Bath though, so it’s always a long day for him.

Not sure how much I can share without straying into libel (despite being true), but fuck it, I've had a drink, seen the evidence and I'll give it broad brushstrokes.

I’ve followed him on Twitter for years and had always quite liked his posts but things seem to fall off a year or two back, he was very open about mental health struggles but then went a bit far with some very public threats to unalive himself, snapping at people then having to publicly apologise and then deleting his account for weeks to let the dust settle. There was a big go fund me which I believe raised over 17k for him because he was struggling to pay bills but then questions were raised on the money then being spent on cars and car parts.

I don’t really take much of an interest in him these days as it’s so woe is me and the actual content isn’t there at all anymore.

Wish the fella well but clearly has issues.
