Most stupid message while flogging a shiter

Not a shiter but I thought it was in the spirit of the thread:

Not reading the listing fully before contacting: CHECK

Asking a question where the answer depends on an infinite variable: CHECK

Did they buy it?: NO

After about 3 days I just message back asking if that wasn’t the answer they were looking for ?

I think sometimes they don’t actually want to buy it, they just want to know if you are still trying to sell it.

The FB app doesn't really help, if you press the message seller button it's already preloaded with Is it still available? so you could conceivably accidentally press those exact two buttons and pocket send.

In fact I go out of my way to not use this message even if I am asking if it's still there to help the seller know I'm a human not a knobend

this 100%

I just don’t know why people waste their own time doing that.

I always edit it for the same reason. It’s just a bit more personable, so long as you don’t go ‘what’s your best price’...

Think I’ll be blocking this one too. Seam to be getting a lot of travellers wives messaging me about the caravan all of a sudden. This one’s fit, so need to protect myself.

I reckon a lot of the time, they show interest so they can find your location and then come and nick it.

I think they send messages to lots of people and they can't remember who they've messaged. They're also not that interested unless the price is low so they can turn it around to make a profit.

Unfortunately there are more than a couple of messers on here, I've had a couple who agreed to buy then go quiet ignoring messages whilst continuing to post and another who is bloody impossible to buy a car off even when I've said I have the cash and can be there in an hour or so, for two separate vehicles on two different occasions which have been advertised for sale, sadly the forum isn't moron free either but I guess that's the law of averages.

True, I shouldn't be moaning, this place has a lower moron rate than most places!   Onwards and upwards; I'll stick an ad for it up shortly.  Their loss could be someone else's gain*.

It is somewhat over-used, currently. It's almost as though people don't know it's meaning.

I was trying to buy a spares car to pick up this weekend as the MOT on it would be out next week.
The whole “selling for a mate” thing - I thought was a ploy for plausible deniability of any issues, but I’ve never had it go so far as this guy, who effectively doesn’t know if what he’s selling is even for sale!
