I would have left it blocking her in and gone on holiday for a month

My lady was a bit snotty about being moaned at. After all when you have a 59 plate 3 series and a child, rules don't apply to you. As if being a parent gives you some sort of Diplomatic immunity?

Apparently I could park on the street. Yes, I didn't have to use my own driveway as I could park on the yellow lines in full view of a traffic warden. My suggestion that she pay my parking ticket was shrugged off with "I don't think so".

I lost my shit at a woman in front of her poor child. I can be quite scary and I am ashamed of myself for doing so, especially as Mrs P saw the whole thing. She wasn't happy. I haven't had any repeats since but the next idiot gets boxed in until they have performed a song and dance number to my liking

I say wheelclamps for home driveways are the future. Charging release fees could help pay towards the cost of your MoTs, VED, etc.....

You need a green clarinet Parky. But use it wisely...

It's bad enough the number of dog owners let their dogs do their business in our front lawn or drive and don't clean up after them (and I'm speaking as a dog owner!), this has definitely been one of the last straws though...fence and locking gates have moved right up the list - and make the CCTV cameras more prominent and add a few more signs advertising their presence I think...

I really miss living in the back of beyond where you could go a whole day sometimes without seeing another person!

I must admit that if some shithead school run parent parked their car on my drive, it'd be blocked in for a lot more than ten minutes, and I'd be ringing round the builders merchants to see who could deliver a tonne bag of sand to my drive ASAP.

I'd suggest you keep a couple of wheel clamps handy for the next time it happens, plus some very difficult-to-remove windscreen warning stickers. Also one of those portable debit card / credit card readers for when you levy a "release fee".....

I'd be careful doing that.  A mate of mine did that to a woman who parked on his drive - she called the old bill and they tried to do him for criminal damage.  Yes, this country is a fucking joke.

Put a "Danger! Mines!" sign on there as well. That way if the car should go all explodey, you can legally argue the driver had been warned...

Am I just a grumpy old man, or am I right to be utterly livid to get home from running a few errands to find one of the parents who arrive every day by car to drive their little angels the 750 yards home had decided that because I was out that my drive was a valid place to park.

Not across my driveway, blocking my driveway...but actually parked IN my drive.  In such a way to occupy no less than three spaces, so I couldn't pull in.

Suffice to say, I boxed her in.

After leaving her to stew for about ten minutes I came out the house and asked if she'd like me to move my car. Apparently she only did it because there was nowhere else to park - the street 50m away with zero parking restrictions and about two cars on it didn't count apparently. Probably because she couldn't possibly make her little darling walk that far...

Now I get it - I live about 100m from a primary school, I'm going to see some distribution at the start and end of the day.  It's just how it works.  However I've had a car shunted on the road, a car in my drive reversed into (twice), and now this... it's bloody ridiculous.

One big issue I have is that I'm autistic - as such it's very important to my being able to be a functioning human being that I can feel that I'm in control of my own space.  This latest escapade has very much left me feeling that I'm not, as apparently any bugger who wants to park there will do.

Oh...and I managed to forget to pick up my keys on the way out the door...so am typing this from the car as I'm now locked out of the house until someone else arrives home from work...

Idiots, the lot of them.  Especially given how tiny the catchment area is for that school.  No reason for at least 90% of them not to just walk.

WALK? Got to show off the Suvvy on finance.

I've got an email from Aidy Flux:

This is your final chance to avoid debt recovery

Unfortunately, the outstanding balance has not been paid.

We have therefore added our £35 charge because of the significant additional administration involved

in appointing a debt collection agency to recover your debt.

Call us on 0344 381 4585 immediately to make a payment of £160.99 and avoid

further increases to your debt through recovery. The appointed agency will get in

touch with you after 30/01/2018 if your debt has not been paid in the meantime.

This is in regards to the policy I cancelled two weeks ago when I sold my T25. It was a £350 policy, paid in full when I took it out and had about 6 months remaining.

I emailed them to cancel it, and got a reply with a £125 figure in. Scanned it as I was busy, expecting it was a refund. Turns out they were demanding £125 after cancelling the policy for some reason.

Do they have a twitter/ face ache presence?

For future reference I have a vehicle you could transfer the policy to if needed - it won't be getting out of the paddock and onto the road this decade.

All insurance companies are utter twats, but Adrian Flux somehow manage to stand head and shoulders above in levels of cuntery.

Twitter is awesome for these situations. I have had two satisfactory results from airing dirty laundry, basically all you are doing is saying you won't accept Computer Says No and would like a grown up to review your problem. Generally quite successful.

You will probably find the CEO of the company has no idea this practice even takes place and will be horrified

I've had zero problems with them over 15 years, they've always been cheaper to insure a modified motor than I could get a standard car covered for anywhere else. Seems as though my luck has run out!

Currently have two other policies with them so at least I've got some leverage as they know they'll be losing a fair bit of business unless they sort it.

Adrian flux has never been competitive for me, but I’ve heard about other people getting ripped off with cancellation charges. It seems to be the new Insurance industry scam on top of 'admin charges'

Personally I wouldn’t insure my wheel barrow with Adrian flux, but good luck sticking it to them.

Agree that Insurance co's to day are staffed by complete morons. Had my own problems with Adrian Flux, they are on my black list, and once on there, you never get off. They made me feel so uncomfortable that I cancelled the two policies set up with them.

Cancelled a Saga policy with 4 days left to run and they sent me a demand for £48 admin charge. I did them a favor, as my new policy was starting 4 days earlier than planned. Would have renewed with them but they chose to double my renewal premium, despite no.claims.

Everyone should shop around every year. You are penalized if you stay loyal to one company.

Park your car over the drive. Pop the bonnet and disconnect the coil pack/remove fuel pump fuse/etc.

Soz officer I pulled up and my car broke down, so coasted onto my drive. Unfortunately blocking this inconsiderate person in. I had to go to the shops for half an hour and get a part to fix it of course.

Parcel2go.com

You book and pay online so they have all your details - who you sent it to, how you paid, what it contained. Their courier Inpost, (which tracks your delivery) then loses your parcel between pick up and delivery address.

When you try and get a refund (for postage only) they ask for all the information they already have from the booking (which you supply again). They "promise" to get in touch after "investigating" with the courier company whether your parcel is lost. You spend hours on their live chat (you can't phone them), to try and get a refund.

Do they think I will give up? Good luck with that.

Finally received a refund for the postage cost.

Was happy with my 205 (see stupid question thread as to why it has soured a bit), but now the horn has also broken.

And I found two massive plates in the boot when looking under the carpet.

And the dent in the rear quarter offside will probably rust if not treated.

Oh and the belts look ancient.

I'm annoyed I rushed into this purchase as this could actually turn out quite expensive after all the above are sorted. Good thing it's fun to drive then.

My mates dad had one of those driveway bars, concerned about theft of his admittedly very nice Jaguar XJ6 4.0. Got in it to go to work, half asleep as you do, forgot to take the bar out... You can guess the rest...

Yeah, It'd have to be at least 6 foot tall or I'd do the same.

At least you can't really forget to take a disklok off!

I honestly think that if I put the bollards in they'd just park on the grass and tear that up!

Fence/wall along the full frontage will be the way forward I think.  Sorry to see that's what it's come to...

I won't go any further about Adrian Flux other than the fact that they are currently finding it fit to charge me pocket change short of £1500 to insure the Xantia and 107 on limited mileage policies for social/pleasure use only.

Suffice to say, come renewal time I'll be going elsewhere!

You know the crazy thing about this driveway business?   If you block 'em in you are denying them access to the highway which, apparently, is an offence!    Had all this explained by a copper after I did exactly the same blocking manoeuvre when a fat git in a Rangey used my driveway to pick up a takeaway across the road.    The only result from that was the twunt's Meal for Four got stone cold.

I a pathetically petty bastard. I'd have boxed her in and got the bus to work/gone out for the day.
