pack up your stuff and move on, enjoy the sunshine and do stuff you want to do, like blezzing about in your fantastic old cars, going to shows and drinking beer.

^^^ This is good advice.Get your stuff and move on and don't look back. Or at least try not to look back. Life will get better.
Without turning this into Pillock's Life Story, I've been in a situation which 87% of experts deemed "fairly similar". I moped for a while, really moped for a bit longer, and then went into a full on lock-myself-away phase.I then discovered who my real friends were (clue: it wasn't the one shagging my wife), took a look at all the benefits (more money, more beer, less washing up, more cars, lie-ins as long as I desired, no having to pretend it's "OK" to want to go to Ikea on a Sunday) and stuff picked up. It will for you too, at the moment it probably seems highly unfair but life levels out in the end.

Indeed I went through the "came home and found her shagging someone else who I thought was a mate" thing.

In the days before crabs by post I contented myself with curry powder down the air intake vents for the blower on his car and supergluing her door locks.

Childish, but it gets better - Im married with kids who are great, whereas she is alone and apparently barren because he was a jaffa.

Ok, my life in the last month wasn´t as bad as some of yours thankfully, but I went through some very bad situations too and all I can say is: "Hang in there, it will get better!". Of course sometimes it takes a long time, sometimes it´s getting brighter quite fast, but it will get easier, it just needs time. The girl I was with did f*ck another guy too and I thought she´s THE ONE for me (at least before she told me that) but now after 2 weeks I have discovered that there are a lot other girls out there that are more than nice.

Uncle's baby was born with difficulties as she was early and so on Doctors poked and prodded her, made her worse. Long story short, they insisted they HAD to turn the life support machine off. Yeah didn't end well.

No words for that!

It is. It also balances out at some point.... there will be few, if any, lows lower than that but there will be highs too, ones really worth waiting for. Just gotta keep going :(

"Technically" something hit me. I think I've killed it.

[Animal? Child? Pensioner?

If so, please don't feel the need to share the photos.

Whats the damage to the car then? Repairable?

The bell end customer at work today. After packing £150 of shopping, she hands me a voucher worth 50p off a tub of Flora Pro-Active butter.Me: "Can I see the product please?"Dickhead: "Why???"Me: "I have to check it is the correct item"Now there were only about 5 tills open, there were at least three people in the queue getting impatient and she was fussing around trying to find it.*Pulls out tub of Flora Original butter*Me: "I'm sorry, that is not the correct product"Dickhead: "Why, it's Flora isn't it?"Me: "Yes, but the voucher is very specific, and we don't get the money back from the manufacturer unless it's the exact item"Dickhead: *gets all huffy* "You're just being awkward"Me: "Would you like me to call a supervisor, she will confirm what I have just said?"Dickhead: "No"*Pays for shopping, getting really huffy"Dickhead: "What's your name?" *grabs my name badge* "I'LL REMEMBER THAT" *waves finger at me, and storms off*Got to see the funny side of it though, I was laughing all the way back to the 2CV.

Why can smackheads have perfect and healthy children ? :(

trust me they don't...............my sister fosters the ones that they have and believe you me they are not perfect and healthy by a very, very long way and the other half works in a long term residential unit with some of the "less" severe cases and thats a bloody nightmare an' allthough I am really guttted for your uncle, it's never nice loosing someone close to you, especially one so young

Life is never straightforward. There are highs and there are lows. Hopefully the good bits far outweigh the bad.I think most people at some point go through a lot of pain due to relationships ending in a not particularly pleasant manner. Thats life sadly. But it does get better, you move on and hopefully onto something better. The old cliches about evenrything working out in the end and such are all true though. It really does get better, it just doesn't feel like it at the time.MM - I really can't imagine how your uncle must feel. My son is seven weeks old and I cannot even begin to imagine how I would feel if anything happened to him.

The REAL difference here is that you're a better person and you're not going to give up.

We all get a rough hand in life at times mate, what makes a difference is how you deal with it.

People that leave their dogs outside at night and just let them bark non-stop. 2.00am I get woken up by the dog these people own. It's a baking hot night and too hot to have the windows shut.....do these people just not think about other residents??Anyway, I bung some clothes on, walk up the road to where this house is (little bungalow down a single track lane but it backs onto our road)The dog is outside growling at me but comes over when I make those daft sounds people make to get dogs to come. It's friendly enough so I open the gates and go in to knock on the door and am amazed to find the porch door wide open and the inner kitchen door also wide open. No-one around, no light on etc so I bang on the door and still nothing. I shout 'hello' loudly a good few times, still nothing. No idea if they were in or just ignoring me so I get the dog in the door, go out and shut it behind me.Good job I wasn't a burglar I guess!I went back with a note asking them to stop leaving it to bark outside at night as some people have work and children have school...hopefully that will do something but I doubt it.Minimad, really sorry to hear about your uncles baby - must be very hard to deal. Also ditto on the relationship thing, I had been with my first long term girlfriend for 3 years and for the last 6 months or so of that she had been singing in a band. I had been driving her all over the place for gigs/rehearsals etc and helping set up/pack up the kit. She repays me by shagging the keyboard player. This was back in 89/90 and this October I will have been with my current girlfriend for 20 years. She is 100 times the girl the previous one was. Fitter, sexier, more intelligent and even better than that, put's up with all my shit with the minimal amount of moaning. It does get better. :)

Misleading adverts.Sick to bleeding death of seeing 3.5T and beavertail/slide bed recovery trucks being advertised as MOT exempt when they're not. Some people are going to be in for a shock when VOSA wise up to these lying cowboys, and it can't come soon enough.

Thats the way life is for me at the moment. Some people just seem to have to try twice as hard to get just half of what someone else has got.Sorry to hear about the little one :(

Tayne :- Nopes, the guy who is in charge with that, is still struggling to get companies "on board" .This one is to do with machines that stamp out and fold packaging, then throw the intended goods in them.Don't want to mention the company as of yet, just incase things go wrong. Thanks Tayne & Cavette.- I will stop posting on the Grump thread, as i feel i'm hogging it-Sorry

Well done Mark, good news.Grump today:As I think I've already posted somewhere, I've been clearing a friends garden (my ex actually, so it goes to show you can still be friends sometimes), well, this morning I had a couple of fence posts to pull out. The first one was sunk into concrete, so some pick-axe action & heavy pulling got it out ok. So I loosened the ground round the second one with the pick-axe & started to pull the post really hard again - the bloody thing snapped so I went flying back about 5 feet & landed on my arse on a brick. Ouch! Really painful & a nice graze/bruise on my upper bum cheek. I'm walking like John Wayne now....

Don't bid on MY car until you have the money in your hands from selling your shite heap ffs because just as you've done to me there are plenty of wasters out there who won't turn up with the cash... (Ebay retards). And no need to worry about bad feedback because thanks to Ebay I can't leave you any so you are quids in.

14 years ago, the medics tried the same thing with my son who was in similar circumstances. I suggested quite forcefully that they should fuck right off, pull their thumbs out of their collective arse, and get it sorted. To their eternal credit, they did. Said "unviable prem" is now as tall as me, scary bright, and a brilliant musician. Different outcome, I know, but worth sharing. All sympathies and thoughts with your uncle, MM5... :(

I too have been upset by Dio's passing. There was a rumour on Sunday morning about it, but his wife denied it but her statement didnt sound very optimistic, something like 'he's still here, just'. He did manage a reasonable age unlike many a 'rock' star though.

I take it your still fairly young then?? some of us are way to close to 60 to think of it as a "reasonable age"
Apologies WVM, it wasnt really meant to sound like that anyway. Yes I am quite young, but I was more referring the to lifestyle that some 'rock stars' live and those who've passed already at a younger age than Dio.

Work! It just keeps on giving!Today was rather hot and humid. That's why our heating was jammed on FULL for the duration then. The controls are in London. They wouldn't shut it off. We couldn't open the windows, for 'Health & Safety reasons' and because the keys for the locks had been 'lost'.If it's like that tomorrow, I will refuse to work.

If it's like that tomorrow, insist on doing your work whilst wearing only a pair of brown Y-fronts (with yellow piping).
