Are most head gasket failures caused by neglect then? None of my cars has suffered a head gasket failure in spite of two being fitted with the VM OHV diesel and another with a K-series.

Most cars had reflective numberplates by 1972.

That's a sweet looking car, I would go for that too if I had circa £2k to spend. Black and white numberplates do look a bit wrong on most cars, especially '70s ones. I'm glad you're considering putting the original reflective 'plates back on.
