The grumpy thread

I had pisstaking as an apprentice - sent to the stores for a long weight and myself and my fellow apprentice chucked into a Grundon bin etc.

But that was harmless enough, and both Mark and I ripped the piss back.

I trust the service manager at the Audi place will be getting the bullet soon.

FUCK!!!!!

Those bastards need charging with murder.  In fact, get them a daytrip to Barrow.  Justice will apply.

I am NOT prone to Daily Mail outbursts but that cunt in charge wants locking up too.

Duty of care?

You saw that shit happen and shrugged it off?

I have not been able to tolerate bullying since I was at primary school.   Leave people the fuck alone.

Fuckers! Just taking it too far .

A garage local to me got dragged over the coals because the mechanics cable tied the apprentice to a chair and put him up on the 4 poster during dinner . Obviously a stupid thing to do but the lad struggled and tried to get down and fell off the ramp and cracked his skull !

I've been on the receiving end of plenty of workshop banter and practical jokes when I was an apprentice and I firmly believe it's character building but some people don't know when to stop

There was a thread several months ago in the open forum about "hazing" rituals for apprentices and a surprisingly large number of autoshiters, including the usual forum bell-ends, were firmly of the opinion that its all just epic bantz, bit of a laff innit, and any young teenager not willing to put up with physical bullying from folk in their twenties must be some kind of special snowflake poofter who shouldnt be trying to work wiv da ladz.

This place etc......

I read on the car sales meme facebook page no action has been taken against staff members and their own press release doesn't mention their involvement .

That's the motor trade

Justice NOT done in any way, then.  That makes me grumpy.

Ample proof that as a species, we're struggling to evolve at the moment. The whole of that Audi service department needs sacking and prosecuting. And then serving sentences doing community service. Not weeks or months of it, but a few years. Wankers.

Must be catching because I've got faceache/earache/headache today, but I think mine may be related to a possible abscess the size of a small country under one of my top molars.

Got some time off work soon, so will book meself into the nearest NHS shite dentist and no doubt get shafted royally for loads of treatment I don't remotely need.

A grand for a 'glass peanut'.... Pain gone/Bite back :)

I saw it as an investment rather than an expense :)

Dunna wanna leave teef in da glass, oh no!

As an absolute minimum.

I've fucked something on the gooner... It veers left and right at random times/with the camber of the road, and pulls right with braking... Might send it in for tracking tomorrow and hope that's all it is.

It'll be that loose ball joint you mentioned. No point tracking it till the ball joint is done.

Posted

It wasn't doing to before though, and the zx didn't do it with the same issue, and it was arguably worse. To do the ball joint id need to buy a grinder or a drill though as their riveted on... And still get the tracking done...

Mmmm, I have procured use of a grinder... Ocap ball joints from euro car parts...

That poor apprentice. Be a shame if the dealership sales fell through the floor as a result

No doubt an apology will be issued together with some mealy mouthed statement about how Audi "care". And a month later the next apprentice gets debagged.....

Nope.... A very badgerarse faced gorilla of a guy should rock up to service reception - glower menacingly - survey the immediate area - smile(laconically) and announce....

"I'll be back!"

Cue... Demolition of whole service suite with a Cabover!

I'd buy tickets ?? ;)

Off on holiday tomorrow morning and I really can't be bothered with it.

My wife's excited but I'll be missing the dog and the cats and my nice quiet commute in my old rover and dicking about with cars all day and my nice customers.

Weird or what?

Reading ? Audi ? Wouldn't be too hard to find. I fucking hate people that do that sort of shit.

When I was a 16/17 yr old I worked with my Dad on building sites e.t.c as an electricians mate. Being with my Dad saved me from most of the shite that others got. Bullying in the work place is a frigging nightmare. I still get the odd "Billy big bollocks" trying it on at work now and I think back to when I was 16. Nipping it in the bud is the best policy. They don't like it up 'em.

In other news (but including Billy big bollocks). I asked a question on a FB group about a rear drum on a vehicle I'd taken apart, I couldn't remember where one spring went, so took a pic and posted it on this marque specific group on facebook. One contributor took the piss because I didn't know what I was doing then gave me advice which proved to be totally incorrect. I figured out where everything went from google images.

I'm finding this more and more on Facebook groups. Ask a reasonable question and get flamed for not knowing the answer/being an amateur/ not being as smart as the guy commenting and 9/10 times nobody knows the answer to your query anyway.

The renault facebook group is a bit odd, there's one bloke who has obviously worked on all his gooners, and is quite helpful on simple common things, but then 3 other people will weigh in saying to take it to renault.

Ive been told that 3 times today, one went mental when I said I drove around the block in limp mode with the esp fail warning flashing, wtf was I supposed to do, call the aa and wait 6 hours 300 yards from home? Even if the damn wheel fell off i'd drag its arse back on 3 wheels...

Glad ya doing the balljoint now.

If the ball joint is rattling then the bottom of the strut can move in & out relative to the car, that changes the tracking every time it moves. Hence why I said it wasn't worth doing without the balljoint.

Having driven it I think thats what it's doing. Every so often above 50 it jammed and veered me off, causing some gripping of the wheel and pissing everyone off doing 43 in a 60!

The zx was different, it just clonked it's arse off but steered ok. I bloody hope it is that, saying that there's nothing else it could be unless I've fucked the rack, and I doubt I've done that.

As if there wasn't already enough to dislike about modern Audi, seems some of their staff are just as pig ignorant and wholly unreasonable as some of the people that drive them.

Does the Q7 make a reasonable man turn into an absolute stroppy impatient road raging shit bag or do these cars just attract them?

There's a Disco 3 page I'm still on for some inexplicable reason, and whenever a question is put forward a good 75% of replies are "RTFM ,its all in there"

Athough it can make interesting reading when owners start bragging about how they've done 500miles this week without the dash lighting up like the proverbial Christmas tree...

My wife and kids (24+25) are away on holiday now, I'm home alone.

Talk about relaxing.

Got a link to it? Sounds fun.

Someone else has waded in, lambasting me for not taking pictures beforehand (fair point, but tell me something I don't know) and giving me advice on how to grease a part that isn't even fitted on this.

Too be honest I think this really needs looking at by someone who knows what they are doing. It really doesn't sound like a normal worn ball joint if it is locking the steering up, are both springs ok ??. I used to post advice on the Renault owners club forum but got fed up with people ignoring it trying to find the cheapest way to sort the problem rather than actually diagnosing it. Now I have pretty much given up advising people but this sounds bloody dangerous and really shouldn't be on the road until it's sorted.

I've got a Xantia here if you want it, beko.

It goes in a straight line, stops properly, everything! Proper luxury motoring.
